Queers for Palestine can’t claim to stand for LGBTQ+ rights while glorifying regimes that brutally persecute LGBTQ+ people. In Gaza, Iran, and many other Muslim countries being openly gay can get you imprisoned, tortured, or executed. Marching for Hamas while waving rainbow flags is not activism it’s delusion. You’re not allies of the oppressed you’re cheering for their oppressors. Time to wake up.

Emily was shot in the hand and in the leg. Hamas killed her dog. Then Emily, Gali, and Gali’s twin brother Ziv were kidnapped and taken to Gaza. In captivity at Al-Shifa Hospital, Emily met fellow hostage Romi Gonen. They later reunited while held together in the tunnels. Emily Damari spent 471 days in Gaza. Through it all, she never broke. She never showed weakness. Hamas could not break her. Since her release, Emily has become a symbol of resilience and a voice for all hostages still held by Hamas. Every day, she fights for her dear friends Gali and Ziv, still captive, as well as the 46 others waiting to be rescued from the horror tunnels. You’re online telling the world you’re “not free” and “losing your rights,” but the thing keeping you up at night is being misgendered as she instead of they/them… because you might look too feminine? This isn’t oppression. This is peak privilege. You have food, internet, free speech, and the time to spiral over pronouns while pretending you’re some kind of resistance fighter. You’re not fighting for freedom, you’re cosplaying struggle. And if America is really that awful, you’re free to find a new country that entertains this nonsense.
