the money doesn't belong to the government schools. education funding is meant for educating children, not for protecting a particular institution. fund students, not systems. #TNLEG

you said the quiet part out loud: you want to empower the system, not the student. #TNLEG

empower parents, not schools.

Is this the empowerment you search for via the public school monopoly???

This you? Perhaps your students would be more successful if you weren't squandering so much of the district's resources.

Another failing TN school superintendent, Jason Manuel, fighting @GovBillLee's efforts to allow children a path out of Jason's failing public schools. Jason is responsible for @gmsdk12 - here's his record: 29% of students in grades 3-5, 45% of grades 6-8, & 50% of grades 9-12 FAIL to meet the most simple, basic requirements for ELA & Mathematics. His schools spend $21k PER STUDENT annually for these miserable results. He's also misleading people. No one is proposing a voucher & studies PROVE universal school choice absolutely benefits students & teachers. You're free to disagree, Jason, but let's keep the debate honest. #TNschoolchoice >

How much is the superintendent’s salary and why

Regardless of how you feel about this issue, it is wildly inappropriate for a public entity to use taxpayer dollars to promote a political message. In many states, this would be an illegal use of public funds.

You can't empower public school with the teachers union destroying public school.
