HISTORYSHEETER ROWDY ARRESTED; FAMILY ATTACKED POLICEMEN A 26-year-old history-sheeter was arrested during a ganja raid in Pulianthope after police seized narcotic substances from his residence. Police also registered a separate case against his relatives for attacking officers during the operation. A video of the altercation later circulated on social media. Acting on a tip-off about the sale of ganj in the Pulianthope, a team from the Basin Bridge Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Krishnakumar and other personnel, conducted a raid on a house in Gandhi Nagar Fifth Street on Sunday night. The house belonged to Nandakumar, 26, who is listed as a history-sheeter by the police. During the search, officers seized 29 packets of ganja weighing a total of 10 grams and six syringes from the premises. Police said women present in the house initially objected to the search and attempted to prevent officers from carrying out the raid. After Nandakumar was arrested and police attempted to take him into custody, his mother and other female relatives assaulted the officers. According to police, the officers used force to protect themselves and bring the situation under control. A video showing the confrontation between police personnel and the family members subsequently went viral on social media platforms. Nandakumar was taken to the Basin Bridge Police Station, where a case was registered against him under relevant provisions relating to possession of narcotic substances. He was inquired further. In a related development, Nandakumar’s mother, Meena, went to the police station and demanded her son’s release. Police said she injured her wrist with a razor blade during the protest and argued with officers inside the station premises. She was later sent away after intervention by police personnel. The Basin Bridge police registered a separate case against Nandakumar’s relatives for obstructing and assaulting police personnel during the raid.

Operation Renewed Hope III results in the tentative identification of 386 victims of child sexual exploitation, with over 100 of those safeguarded. Homeland Security Investigations, in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies, worked to identify victims of online child sexual exploitation and abuse during Operation Renewed Hope III, Feb. 24 to March 7. The operation's 386 leads containing the location and probable identities of children were “generated through sophisticated investigative techniques targeting offenders who operate via the internet, which includes the use of forums, websites, email, chat rooms and file-sharing applications. Leads are compared against images of unidentified children and offenders in Interpol’s International Child Sexual Exploitation Database and then disseminated globally to HSI field offices and 47 partnering countries.” Homeland Security Investigations’ Operation Renewed Hope III consisted of special agents, victim identification specialists, computer forensic analysts, and criminal analysts within HSI who worked side by side with additional partners from the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Justice Department’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section; Thomson Reuters Special Services; the FBI and the Northern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. “International partners included 28 victim identification specialists from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.” We are so grateful for all of the law enforcement agencies and partners that made this successful operation possible! It’s now open season on Chicago Police. A driver ramming into 5 police officers is a direct result of a decade long, scorched-earth, no-holds-barred war of resistance against CPD. This war against police — the purpose of which is to undermine police authority and the rule of law — has been waged by progressive lawmakers, community groups, and the CTU. A campaign of hate against CPD, the result is police have now been backed into a corner by this backlash, and officers have been subject to a dramatic increase in attacks. By stoking baseless and ridiculous fears of police with incendiary comments, the CTU, progressive aldermen, and community groups have created an atmosphere in which people believe it is possible to attack CPD with impunity. It is time for the race hucksters and their political enablers such as Mayor Johnson, Stacy Davis Gates, progressive lawmakers and community groups to stop the campaign of incitement against the police.
