This may sound like a hot take but the movie was the only good thing that came out of this disaster of a gen. What came after was very underwhelming, especially chapter 1 of MYM

I only watched the movie and little bits of other g5 stuff bc of sofia carson as pipp but I really did like the movie honestly it was so cute but also had a good message

I thought it was a great movie too. But man the writing and graphics of it feels very contrasting to the two G5 shows. We were supposed to have one show under the same team who made the movie, but that unfortunately changed :/

My life genuinely took a turn for the worse when this movie was released

I showed this movie to my history teacher and he said it was one of the most ACUTRE depictions of racism and fear mongering that he's ever seen and that he was surprised that this came out of a children's movie about talking ponies.

I truly wanted to give this a chance, I truly did. But I honestly felt it wasn’t offering that same charm that made us love MLP during its FIM run. Speaking of which, I felt that also hurt Gen 5. It tried too hard to connect with the events of FIM it was barely its own series.

@StormShy534063 I think a lot of ppl are just nostalgia blinded by g4, bc g5’s movie was really good in its own way but sm people didn’t rlly give it a proper chance yk. But that’s just my opinion 😆

Loved the G5 movie (incredible music) and my kids loved it too, but I never tried the series. Bean-mouth animation means an instant pass from me these days…

Honestly the people making it were just unlucky, they had to work on pony recession. I am telling you that whatever Hasbro releases now will be a sucess exclusively because the fandom is growing back.

And whereas I loved when they would go for the story driven episodes, when they switched to the more TTG comedic run, most moments weren’t sitting with me (Especially moments of toilet humor that made it uncomfortable to sit through).

I absolutely love MLP Gen 5, it was a good show, the writers knew how to handle serious subject matter compare to FIM. The new Mane 6 were honestly much better t o like compare to the previous Mane 6. And the villains were honestly much better threat and had actually backstories
