The words of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, Pope Leo XIV, speak to a truth WFP sees every day: Hunger reaches far beyond the plate — affecting peace, opportunity and the strength of communities. That is why the fight against hunger is a responsibility we all share.

📍 #Haiti: In communities already facing hunger and instability, extreme weather events can wipe out local food sources. WFP is working alongside the Government and communities to strengthen local food systems — improving infrastructure and helping families produce and access the food they need.

🆘Conflict, hunger, and instability are converging in northern #Nigeria. Insurgent attacks and economic stress are pushing food insecurity to record highs: 35 million people across the country could face severe hunger in 2026. WFP is on the ground, but more support is urgent.

Every degree of warming drives more people into hunger. As the world looks to #COP30, WFP is there with a clear message: 1️⃣ Mobilize finance for frontline communities 2️⃣ Invest in resilient, fair food systems 3️⃣ Ensure solutions & financing reach those who need them most

Food is nourishment. Food is hope. Food is life. Food is not a weapon. More than five years since #UNSC Resolution 2417 was adopted, conflict continues to be the primary driver of extreme hunger.

WFP has supported more than 1 million people in greater Khartoum — a city devastated by war. Hunger has soared, and the needs remain staggering. We’re doing all we can to expand assistance across #Sudan. But without more resources, we can’t reach everyone.

WFP has resumed food distributions in #Gaza City — and bakeries are reopening once again. This is a vital step for families long cut off from aid. WFP needs regular and safe access through northern crossings to reach everyone facing hunger in the north.

Elon Musk: Hunger these days is more of a political and logistics problem than it is not having enough food There's a lot of food. In fact, in the US and many countries, the issue is more obesity than it is hunger. So I'm always looking for ways to give away money that are effective Like, what do you think I should do?"

Hunger doesn't wait for routes to re-open. And neither do we. After a 15,000 km journey across 9 countries, these fortified biscuits finally arrived in #Afghanistan. Head of Supply Chain, Corinne Fleischer, explains how, in a world of rising costs and disruptions, delivering food is harder - and more critical - than ever.
