This man is literally on the floor in pain begging for help in the ER… and the hospital staff just ignores him. He’s writhing in severe pain at Northside Hospital in Georgia, screaming “I can’t take this pain anymore” and “Somebody help me, please” over and over. For a full 90 minutes he’s ignored while he pleads for relief. Eventually he gives up and leaves to try Kennestone Hospital instead. He could be suffering from something like kidney stones, but the video never actually says — either way, he’s clearly in agony. My heart hurt watching this. Why aren’t the hospital workers helping him at all? Could you really sit there and listen to a person literally on the floor begging for help and not do whatever you could to help them?

Contrary to what the internet has led many of you to believe, kegels are not the only answer to pelvic floor issues. I see a lot of pelvic floor issues improve when the body becomes better able to manage pressure and internal/external forces. This is accomplished through better breathing, a better gait cycle, and more efficient kinetic chain movement from head to toe. Often times there is a need for specific pelvic floor work, but that often needs to extend beyond just learning to contract and relax the pelvic floor through kegels.
