Amazing to find out that the artificial arm invented by T Kirk and Alexander Pringle, and manufactured by the P & K Artificial Limb Company, Belfast, Ireland, c.1920-1925. Known as the P-K arm, the design allowed the wearer to grip with the fingers, which were made of steel springs, by means of a lever set above the wrist and operated by the wearers other hand.

The reason innovation for the good of the people stopped being a thing was because of planned obsolescence.

It’s amazing how well it works given it’s a fully mechanical system

My good what happened? Why are we not funding this?

thats really mind blowing that they created this in the 20s....

Another example of the amount of tech that has been suppressed over the years. Rabbit hole - look up how these tech fairs throughout history has caused technology to be bought by corporations and shelved forever. Insane..

Holy crap! When did humanity stop really trying to be the best it can be?

It seems to work better than todays prostetics.

What is he doing to bend that arm? 👀

I just knew he was going to have a smoke. 😂😂
