If I wanted to take my wife and children along for the experience, it would cost me £660 just for tickets. Add food, travel, and the obvious souvenir, it’s going to be touching a grand. For a single day at the cricket. Ludicrous. Can afford it, but fuck that.

No matter what Root says - ECB and Warwickshire CCC will try to gouge the average English and Australian cricket supporter for all they can. It's all about making a pound nowadays and it will only get worse.

This year’s prices are at the top end of what I view as acceptable for a dats sport. The Ashes - forget it Could I afford it - yes, can I justify spending over £150 on a ticket - no😔

You’ll never ever grow the game, a format under threat, with prices like this. It’s a desperate money grab which will only speed up the decline of tests. Premier league will realise it soon. Won’t hold my breath. Already happening.

I’ve just received an email inviting me to purchase a 5 day pass to the New Zealand India Test at Christchurch Oval, price NZ$120, that’s less than £50 for (potentially) 5 day’s cricket between two of the worlds top test teams.

The cheapest day 1-4 is £115 and to me that’s definitely high but it is £19.16 an hour but a match at Villa is £33 per hour. Cricket by this metric is a lot cheaper. *assuming 11-5 matchday. Even with £165 it’s still cheaper ph than villa

So it shouldn’t cost more than £40.

Basic economics. Events have been ruined by touts for years yet no one has done anything about that. If people didn't buy from them, they wouldn't exist.

SIlverstone British Grd prix. ordinary admission £249, grad stand £459... you see the cars on average for 12 seconds every lap. its over in 3 hours, drivers get £1 mill per race. 175,000 attended on Sunday, thats more than 5 days of a full Lords, where you get 7 hours of cricket.

Maybe if modern test teams could actually bat these days it would help. Grounds are having to consolidate their income into 2/3 days...

They could be £500 a ticket for the Lords test and it would sell out the first 4 days.. the demand is there ad tht is what determines price.

It’s too expensive, me and five friends book a test match in England every year and attend for the whole test match (well as many days as my liver can take). However, no more at those prices, ridiculous.

Cricket is not and never has been there for the working class. That includes supporters and players. Not many comprehensive school English captains.
