This song is one Glen Campbells most haunting and long loved hits! It was written by Jimmy Webb, who also penned other hit songs for Glen - "By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” and “Galveston'. Webb wrote "Wichita Lineman" in response to Campbell's urgent phone request for a "place"-based or "geographical" song to follow up "By the Time I Get to Phoenix". The song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000. While other's have recorded this song, I can't imagine anyone else's voice singing it but Mr Campbells. Can you?
