I miss the early 2000 when Malibu wasn’t a dystopian hellscape.

This is a big part of the reason I left California after living there my whole life. The lawlessness and the blight are depressing, ruining an otherwise beautiful state. It's not like this everywhere, though. Life is good outside California... and affordable.
