Couple notes: 1. The official X account for Hoover is @HooverUSA 2. Although I found corresponding wear marks on the tanks and those "nubs" on the tank housing, I found more friction damage on the face of the cup of the housing, where the the water flows out. I believe this part in particular may be dimensioned incorrectly. 3. I didn't expect this to blow up. This video was really meant for my friends & followers. Thank you all for watching 4. To do a full root cause analysis, I would need more time with the machine. This should be considered an "initial findings" video, which may contain inaccuracies.

As the owner of a detailing garage, could not agree with you more. I've seen it in everything from the brushless drills and vacuums to the actual chemical formula (therefore efficacy) of products like Goo-Gone. Unfortunately have to splurge for commercial-grade otherwise its shit

I think companies are taking it too far. They design the products so they don’t last, and you have to buy a new one every few years, but that’s not enough apparently, now they won’t even work from the beginning. Soon, why own when you can rent. The world is fucked now by design

A tip for folks with these machines: Dont use their crappy carpet shampoo. Go to a janitorial supply, get the professional concentrate. Mix it in a pump sprayer & spray your carpet down. Let it sit. Fill that water tank with plain water. Keep going over it a few times until no more suds. So much cleaner!

I have that exact model. It works ok. I guess I got lucky.

I worked at a manufacturing company that made our own dies. Primarily components and caps for semi truck fuel tanks. Each die cost about $60,000. Considering how busy we were as soon as a die was finished and put into operation they would start building a new one so it was ready by the time the current die wore out. I can’t remember how long they lasted but it wasn’t more than 6 months. I don’t think they are doing that in those third world manufacturing plants.

Bro families used to pass down vacuums and other appliances because they were built so well. Everything was built to last and be repaired now it’s all built to be thrown away.

No it says it is made in Vietnam. It is made in China and then bulked shipped or is assembled in Vietnam.

Plumbing industry isn't any better. The lack of product quality control has been an issue for over 10 years. Nobody gives a shit anymore. I tell customers ALL THE TIME, "Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's going to work." Sad.

I say build new companies and let the old ones die out. They've all changed hands several times already and aren't even the same companies anymore. We need new Auto Manufacturers too.

@UNATCOHillaryPC What I suspect is the designers’ drawings all work just fine, everything lines up perfectly, and the issue is entirely on the factories for each of those parts skimping out. Not really fair to blame the engineers who, chances are, never once got sent to visit the factory.

I love your content and agree 100% with your video but you and I both know the real issue isn’t Vietnam vs America and that most countries *could* produce better stuff if the buyer simply paid for better tooling, better processes, and better QA, with higher tolerances all around.

That's not how it works, the Hoover company didn't design that machine, they don't send the spec's to Vietnam and ask them to build it . The overseas companies have 50 plus models already made and the hoover company picked that one . It's the same with fridges microwaves ect...

As a machinist, I can assure you that it is the BROWNIFICATION of manufacturing and the world more or less, you’ve got Indians on the board that push for Indian engineers that got their degree through a scam, to sell to coin slot eyed people for the cheapest manufacturing cost

I appreciate your dedication and effort, but that carpet is 40 years old. Professional steam cleaners are the only thing that can clean carpet to an acceptable level. You need more heat that hot tap water. Best of luck in your endeavor.

Anyone who has purchased toys for their children lately has noticed the same. Doesn’t seem to matter what brand. Some toys are missing vital components that literally make it work. I seen in parts made poorly that don’t fit and are often missing pieces. Production over quality

Dealing with customer service, getting a return authorization label, packing it back up, dropping it off at a mailing center, waiting for the money all sounds like a pin in the ass. Most people just throw it away and take the loss and companies count on that.

I stopped not knowing what the video was about but because over the last year I have purchased 3 different carpet cleaners. I sent the first 2 back (both of those were Hoovers including this specific product) So naturally it caught my attention The final one I purchased still doesn’t work well. Very low suction strength despite being named “turbo clean” Also the water dispenser just like you demonstrated also doesn’t work properly (at times not at all until I push a screwdriver into the valve thingie) on my Bissell, now I know why. Manufacturing is awful on most home appliances. The government lied to us when they shipped our manufacturing overseas. Everything is worse, cheaply made, poor quality, and still costly! 🇺🇸
