2015-ish was the high watermark for car interiors. Analog dials with a small display in the middle on the dashboard, reasonably-sized screen in the middle for navigation, physical buttons for everything. It was only downhill from there. (BMW F10 in pic)

If you buy a car with a giant screen bolted to the dash you deserve everything coming to you and more.

100% self inflicted. By all means keep rewarding companies by paying them for this.

This bullshit is why I left the Android ecosystem.

Refuse to buy shit you don't like, it's really that simple

There should not be a touchscreen in a car

No one does car software better than Tesla

The reason I'm super happy with my Fiat Multipla.

rented this car last weekend, worse experience ever

The whole centre console just looks cheap.

Volvo infotainment is complete junk, it somehow gets worse every year

I will never buy another car with a computer in it.

My 2008 noot-noot mobile doesn't have a single screen, it doesn't even have electric windows or A/C, and it drives better and is more reliable than any modern bullshit car money can buy. Going back to full mechanical and cassette/CD radio is the solution.

This is exactly why I hate my 2026 Volvo XC60. It’s basically fresh off the factory only 2000 miles on it, yet the infotainment constantly glitches and needs resetting on the highway, Bluetooth pairing is a nightmare that often requires a full car restart, the boost is inconsistent, the electric handbrake creaks after 5 minutes parked, and it fights me every time I try to actually drive it hard. It’s basically a shit show every time you drive it 🤣

How about not connecting Android auto or just agreeing to terms of service once?

Just fucking sign in to Google. Everybody has one. You’re just complaining to complain.

Any post 2015 car is like this, just stop buying them. Observe Car man: Hello I am car man, a man who sell car. Want buy car for $60k? It's complete shit. Me: No, I do not buy car Mr car man, me have car already. I shine a light upon thee! Car man: *Screeches and runs off*

Thats no a car, thats a cloud-touchscreen-surveillance-device on wheels. This is a car.

The reason why a lot of people are still driving their old cars is because they don't want to buy any of the crappy new ones that spy on you and break down often.

It takes 20 clicks just to start the climate in your car these days; and they say cell phones cause driver distraction…lol. Going full digital to this extreme is incredibly annoying.

I am here for all the Americans and them defending the corporations I am here for all the Americans saying just comply bro fucking Americans... you're so pitiful now get back to making fun of workers like the little wage slaves you are

great guide to make companies back to analog

Bring back interiors like this

they are ruining it day by day with that android nonsense. old version was already terrible but this one looks even worse

i know a vibe code when i see it

Point it at a cliff and put a brick on the gas pedal.

Wait until it's a 30c + raging hot day, that poxy tablet pc is melting and won't respond to touch commands and you cannot turn on the AC until it does.... Now what

Can you pay extra to NOT have a touchscreen?

My question is: What happens when the cellular modem eventually gets obsoleted out of connectivity as 3G did for the early vehicles that had 'internet integration'? Will the vehicle then say "Hey, so, your vehicle is now obsolete! It's time to trade up!" and then brick itself?

The man tried to the best of his ability to promote the product but volvo kept asking, "How bowt now?"

We have a 2016. Each time we’ve had it serviced over the years the dealership gives us a loaner XC90, usually the latest one. Each one is progressively worse with controls. Hanging on to my 2016 as long as possible, then ditching @volvocars they no longer build cars for PEOPLE!

That bug was fixed a year ago

I feel there was a sweetspot around 2016 where we had carplay and bluetooth support in infotainment, you could customize your gauge cluster in some cars, and that was all you really needed. It was just simple and functional
