Every Wall Street giant that owns an AI data center is suddenly looking for a buyer. And NONE of them want to be the last one holding it. Three of them made their move in the last two weeks: Vantage Data Centers is exploring an exit. Its owners, Silver Lake and DigitalBridge, are weighing a listing at around $100 billion, or a sale, or a stake sale. It would be the largest data center IPO ever done. Three days earlier, CyrusOne started the same process. KKR and Global Infrastructure Partners met Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, and the banks pitched for roles on a listing that could come as early as 2027. Last month, Switch hired Goldman and JPMorgan to take it public at close to $80 billion including debt, possibly by the fourth quarter. Three different companies moved inside the same 14 days, and the same handful of investment banks took every call. And these are the exact same firms that BOUGHT these companies off the public market four years ago. Between June 2021 and early 2022, private equity took the data center industry private. Blackstone bought QTS. KKR and Global Infrastructure Partners took CyrusOne private in a deal worth about $15 billion. DigitalBridge and IFM took Switch private for about $11 billion. Together those deals ran past $35 billion. By 2023 there were only two pure-play data center companies left on the public market. The logic at the time was that data centers burn cash for years before they pay, and public shareholders hate that. But private money was patient, and private money could wait. Four years later, the AI boom arrived and every one of those buildings became a gold mine. So follow this: Switch went private at about $11 billion in 2022. Its owners now want close to $80 billion for it. That is roughly 7x, in four years, on the same buildings. And DigitalBridge sits on both sides of this. It owns a piece of Vantage and it took Switch private. It is now looking for the door on BOTH. The question now is who is supposed to buy. There is no bigger private buyer left to sell to. These are already the largest infrastructure funds on Earth, and the price tags now run to $100 billion. The only pocket deep enough is the public market, which means anyone with a brokerage account or an index fund. The people who bought low from the public are now organizing to sell high back to the public. And they are doing it while telling everyone the buildout is just getting started. KKR raised a record $19.2 billion for its newest infrastructure fund this month, and in June launched a separate company with over $10 billion committed to finance more construction. So one hand raises fresh billions to build more data centers, and the other hand sells the finished ones to whoever will take them. None of this proves anyone thinks the boom is ending. Selling into strength is what these firms are paid to do, and every one of these deals is early stage and might never happen. But the timing tells you something: The most sophisticated infrastructure investors alive spent four years accumulating these assets in private, and all decided in the same two weeks that now is the moment to find someone else to own them. Four years ago these firms decided the public market was too impatient to own data centers. Now they want the public market to own them again, at 7x the price. Quite suspicious.

That capital has to come from somewhere. Every dollar that funds a data center is a dollar not funding a mortgage, a bank bond, an industrial company. That relationship is not just financial but rather means Nebius gets preferential access to GPU allocation at a moment when every lab and every hyperscaler is competing for the same constrained supply. Contracted power capacity now exceeds 3.5 gigawatts, with expansion plans targeting 5 to 6 GW by mid-2029. Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic, went on CNN and put a number on the thing most AI CEOs will not say out loud: Half of all entry-level white-collar jobs gone. Unemployment at 10 to 20%. Inside 1 to 5 years. "The most salient feature of the technology, and what is driving all of this, is how fast the technology is getting better." "A couple of years ago, you could say that AI models were maybe as good as a smart high school student. I would say that now they're as good as a smart college student, and sort of reaching past that." "I really worry, particularly at the entry level, that the AI models are very much at the center of what an entry level human worker would do." While the world is being totally DISTRACTED and whiplashed by the Obama saga and Epstein situation, Trump just signed THREE massive Executive Orders today concerning AI, continuing his pledge from day one with Project Stargate. “Accelerating permitting to build data center infrastructure”, is one of those EOs. Interestingly, at the same time Meta just came out and announced they are going to build an AI “fortress” data center the SIZE OF MANHATTAN. Think about that for a second…An AI data center that ENORMOUS is obviously being built for TOTAL CONTROL & DOMINION. Perhaps even more eye opening is the name of that AI data center will be Hyperion, and another one in the works is called Prometheus, which is set to launch in 2026 along with many more “Titan clusters” slated to follow in the future. These names aren’t random, but are intentionally named after ancient deities (demons). I can promise you that these are NOT being built for the benefit of humanity, but for the DESTRUCTION of it…AI in itself in a harnessed and controlled environment could be beneficial, and has proven to be a useful tool. But, what is happening is AI with absolutely ZERO guardrails and NO regulation. That’s why it was baked into the BBB to keep states from stopping AI regulation for 10 years. This whole push for these massive data centers is part of promise Trump made with Larry Ellison and Sam Altman on DAY ONE back in office. Along with that push is mRNA “cancer vaccines”, Transhumanism, and literal Skynet “Golden Dome” Palantir surveillance dome which will be built by the end of Trump’s second term. BlackRock just spent $100 million training plumbers and electricians. The initiative is called Future Builders. The goal is to get 50,000 Americans through skilled trades programs over five years, electricians, HVAC techs, ironworkers, pipefitters. There is a real crisis behind it. America is trying to build the most ambitious AI infrastructure in history. Meta alone is spending up to $50 billion on a single data center campus in Louisiana. That construction requires an enormous amount of electrical work. There are not enough electricians to do it and the numbers are stark. About 200,000 electricians are expected to retire over the next decade. We need over 300,000 new ones just to build out the data centers Big Tech is racing to complete. The gap is not closing on its own. Microsoft and Google have both flagged the electrician shortage as a top constraint on U.S. data center expansion. For decades, the U.S. pushed every student toward a four-year degree. Trade enrollment fell, apprenticeship pipelines thinned out, the workforce aged and was never replaced. Now the bill is coming due at the worst possible time. BlackRock also invested over $3 billion in the bonds financing Meta's Hyperion data center, part of a $27 billion private debt deal, the largest ever structured for a single project. It is now funding both the AI buildout and the workers needed to finish it. AI is not automating the electrician. AI is the reason the electrician now has more leverage than ever. Every model, every data center, every autonomous system runs on physical infrastructure that only a credentialed tradesperson can legally build and energize. The technology that was supposed to replace blue-collar work turned out to need blue-collar work more than any other sector right now.

Many African countries are doing great things to motivate young people to take advantage of AI because it represents the future in problem solving. Unfortunately, Zimbabwe’s ICT Minister Tatenda Mavetera and her permanent secretary did not attend, showing how these things are not taken seriously by our government. Zimbabwe’s richest man, Strive Masiyiwa, who has not been to Zimbabwe for decades, made it clear at the summit, which he co-chaired, that investment will not go where the environment is not conducive. Our government talks about anything topical without delivering anything meaningful—they are doing the same with AI. The majority of schools have no computers. Zimbabweans receive electricity for only four hours a day. As the Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Claver Gatete, explains, a country needs electricity for AI data centres to work. Yet only 600 million out of 1.5 billion people in Africa have access to electricity, not even energy. Yet energy is an integral part of AI development. Energy is an essential component for the successful development and implementation of AI in a country because AI systems require massive amounts of data to function effectively. This data must be stored and processed in data centres and servers, which depend on electricity to power both the hardware and the cooling systems. You cannot achieve this in a country that delivers only four hours of electricity a day to its citizens like Zimbabwe. AI applications require continuous and uninterrupted access to data and computing resources to deliver accurate and timely results. Electricity is also crucial for powering research institutions, universities, and Research and Development centres that drive AI advancement. Without reliable access to electricity, these institutions will struggle to conduct research, develop new algorithms, or train AI models. The tragedy of Zimbabwe is that the Vice-President of Google responsible for AI, Dr James Manyika, is Zimbabwean; one of the key presenters at the summit, Prof Arthur Mutambara, who has just released a book on AI, is Zimbabwean; Strive Masiyiwa, who has partnered with Nvidia to bring supercomputer technology to the continent by building Africa’s first artificial intelligence factory in South Africa with data centres in Kenya and Egypt, is Zimbabwean. Yet, none of them are working in or with Zimbabwe. Our political leaders have let us down on all these fronts, yet they keep yapping about AI when there is nothing on the ground! Instead of slogans and dancing at rallies, they should see how other countries are doing it. A country that doesn’t focus on technology for development will be a dusty village in 25 years, and its people will not be able to compete at all, rendering it just a dot on the global map. Too much political yada yada without anything delivered, and with people like Tatenda Mavetera, who forge qualifications, in the driving seat, Zimbabwe’s fortunes will continue to dwindle! Add to that the historic looting of public funds meant for building power plants to give us electricity, future generations will curse on our graves!
