Es precioso, ¿verdad? 🥰🥰🥰

The thick yellowish “gunk” being peeled off isn’t pus or an infection, it’s multiple layers of retained spectacles (the clear protective scale that covers the entire eye like a contact lens). Leopard geckos shed this cap with their skin, but in captivity low humidity or vitamin A deficiency causes it to stick; in extreme cases like this one, 5-10 old layers can build up over months, completely clouding vision until someone carefully tweezers them off one by one.
