One of the most important scenes in tonight’s #Corrie. Dylan’s conversation with his dad showed how easily teens can see things online without understanding the risks. How it's highlighted that not everyone does it. He couldn’t grasp how something he and Betsy both agreed to, which wasn’t intended as an act of brutality, could still cause devastating harm. By making it clear Betsy consented, they still made a point that consent doesn’t automatically mean something is safe. This storyline is changing conversations about how young people view sex, one scene at a time.

I sometimes wonder just how often men fantasize about dying, or at least risking death, in an act of valiant self sacrifice... I mean you find it in nearly every epic story, from Beowulf to Lord of the Rings. It's in video games, movies, music, everywhere. It's a constant in our myths and fables. And memes. Men post memes about this sort of thing all the time. Think about how peculiar that is for a moment. Because I can't recall at any time in my life witnessing a woman posting a silly, funny, or whatever meme that recognized the intrinsic value in her willingness to be annihilated for the greater good. I've certainly never done so. But men seemingly do this sort of thing all the time... but, just how often is it?

Brett Meiselas: I want to remind you that one of the first things that the Democrats tried to do back in 2021, after President Biden took office, was they tried to pass the Freedom to Vote Act that banned partisan gerrymandering. Every physicist since Newton had assumed 50/50 without ever testing it. Every trading model built on that assumption is running on the same lie. The lecture was on Feynman's book "The Meaning of it All." Diaconis quoted the most famous line in it: "the first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool." Then he pointed out that Feynman himself was fooled by every coin he ever flipped. Feynman's own rule would have killed the 50/50 assumption on day one. The market is the same setup at scale. Every model that assumes independent 50/50 outcomes at the base layer is built on a physical impossibility. Order flow, positioning, forced flows, expiries all leave biases larger than 1 percent. Your gut cannot see them. The math already knows they are there. Diaconis's rule: before you trust a random process, check it. Actually check it. Not with a simulation. With a proof or an experiment. Now RINOs are drumming up the "not enough time" EXCUSE after THEY delayed it. What a freaking disgrace. TILLIS TO CBS: "The SAVE America Act will not be implemented in time for this election. Anybody that knows anything about election law understands that." "If anybody thinks that you're going to implement something as expansive as the SAVE Act in two months." "People will be doing some early voting. People will have to deal with registrations. Does any rational person who's ever had any experience with implementing election law really think that it's possible to have all that in place in time for this election to not be disruptive, and incidentally, it's an unfunded mandate that has zero dollars for implementation." Anybody that knows anything about election law understands that." "If anybody thinks that you're going to implement something as expansive as the SAVE Act in two months." "People will be doing some early voting. People will have to deal with registrations. Does any rational person who's ever had any experience with implementing election law really think that it's possible to have all that in place in time for this election to not be disruptive, and incidentally, it's an unfunded mandate that has zero dollars for implementation." "So I would ask anybody who actually understands how to pass laws, implement them, and have them in place at the level that they need to be to ensure the integrity of elections, how absurd is it to think that could be done by November?!" 😡😡 Even with this argument, there's ZERO EXCUSE not to pass it anyway so it's in place for ALL future elections. But since then, it's accelerated to the point where Illinois stands alone at the top of a list no sitting governor should ever want to be on. The conversation in Springfield is always about revenue (i.e., how to get more of your money). It's never about how to do more with what they already take. That's the problem.

While Republicans can’t even pass the SAVE America Act, the Democrats are not far from pulling a multi-pronged plan to lock in permanent power without amending the Constitution. 1. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact already has 18 states and DC signed on with 222 electoral votes. Once they hit 270, every member state will award its electors to the national popular vote winner even if their own voters rejected that candidate by double digits. 2. Court expansion bills keep getting reintroduced to grow the Supreme Court from 9 to 13 justices, with sponsors like Warren and Nadler. 3. DC statehood has already passed the House twice and would add 2 permanent Democratic Senate seats without changing the political balance anywhere else. With the electoral college gone, the SC out of the way, and expanding statehood, the Democrats keep changing the rules of the game they can’t win to consolidate power. Open borders will come in handy again.
