Ethereum cannot shorten slots today. Slot times are fixed at 12 seconds. Quick Slots (EIP-8198) fixes that. The business case is clear: faster confirmations, fresher onchain prices, and faster finality. Pay the one time cost, reduce slot times to 10 seconds then ratchet lower. With Glamsterdam scaling improvements coming...

Learning how to reduce slot times now-- like we did with blobs-- is a great idea. Step 1, turn faster slots into a reliable system, starting with a modest speedup from 12s to 10s. Step 2, dial knob. Steps take years due to hard forks. Strong supporter to do this in Hegota.

still sitting with the question I had under the original announcement — does moving toward a ratchet-style, ever-shortening slot time make timing-correlation analysis on privacy pools easier or harder over time? more uniform, shorter slots could cut both ways: better UX for legitimate users, but also a tighter window for an observer trying to correlate deposit and withdrawal timing. haven't seen this angle discussed yet.

A fast Ethereum that doesn’t compromise on its main value propositions sounds great.

Ethereum is starting from the endgame. Episode 4 of TheCoordinate is a deep dive into Lean Ethereum: a clean-slate rethink of consensus, execution, and data availability. I sat down with Justin Drake from Ethereum Foundation to unpack: > need for the rewrite, > rewrite items: post-quantum security + fast finality, > endgame finality (3-slot -> 2-slot -> maybe 1-slot), > slot anatomy, networking constraints, and the "SOL slots" meme, > real-time ZK proving changing the execution roadmap, > censorship resistance with FOSSIL, > role of L2s in the world of Lean Ethereum, > incentives across proposer, builder, prover, includer, attester. If you’re building on Ethereum or trying to understand where the base layer is headed, this one is for you. This is Episode 4 of TheCoordinate. Hope you enjoy it! ------------------------------- Timestamps: 0:00 Intro: digital intelligence needs digital institutions 0:30 The big questions: Lean Ethereum, consensus/execution, post-quantum 1:25 Why Ethereum needs an endgame mindset (and a clean-slate approach) 3:30 The two “rewrite-class” items: post-quantum security + fast finality 5:52 Beamchain → Lean Consensus → Lean Ethereum (expands beyond consensus) 6:34 ZK EVM + real-time proving within a slot → “10,000 TPS” target 10:10 “SOL slots”: pushing slot duration toward speed-of-light constraints 11:09 3-slot finality (3SF) → endgame finality (2-slot / 1-slot paths) 18:19 eFP2P: erasure-coded gossip, bandwidth efficiency, scaling blobs 26:21 FOSSIL today: inclusion lists + opening includers beyond validators 39:09 Lean VM: minimal ZKVM 51:04 XMSS explained: Merkle signatures, 2^32 leaves, statefulness tradeoff 1:00:36 Rollups: 99.9% throughput on L2s + “native rollups” 1:06:53 Economics: roles (builder/prover/includer/attester), proving costs, stake capping

Most critics think Ethereum is getting cannibalized by L2s. But the founders of Ethlabs believe Ethereum is quietly positioning itself to become the root of the global economy. Fast confirmation rules are set to slash transfer friction by 98%, L2s are onboarding tens of millions of real-world users, and L1 is cementing its position as the primary economic settlement hub. MODI SARKAR STRIKES IndiGo HARD! IndiGo wanted to save cost by BLACKMAILING Govt, now LOSES ₹1200-1400 Crore REVENUE. - #Modi Sarkar issued guidelines to improve Passenger Safety -Would've increased cost for IndiGo with appointment of new Pilots & Crew Staff -IndiGo DELIBERATELY created chaos & that too during Putin’s visit -NOW Govt cracks down on IndiGo as 717 FLIGHT SLOTS (roughly 5600 FLIGHTS) vacated after DGCA order. All major PROFITABLE routes (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedaba) hit hard with 10% SLOTS cancellations. The 10% cut to IndiGo's winter schedule, effective from December 2025 through the end of March 2026 (approximately 111-112 days), translates to an effective reduction of about 2.35% in actual daily flights operated, impacting roughly 5,600 flights in total. Analysts estimate peg the associated revenue loss at ₹1,200-1,400 Crore. Will Passengers be affected?— NO! -The cancelled slots of IndiGo are allotted to other operational airlines. So no scarcity of flights. -Routes where only IndiGo operates, remain unchanged with no cancelled slots. -Modi Sarkar has already issued orders to not allow airlines to loot passengers taking advantage of demand-supply arithmetic. -Not a single flight reduced. Only RE-ALLOTTED to other airlines. Means....ONLY INDIGO IS SCREWED, NOT THE AVIATION SECTOR NOR PASSENGERS! Note- Modi Sarkar has already issued operating licenses to new airlines like Shankh Air, Al Hind Air & FlyExpress to reduce almost Duopoly of IndiGo & Air India...to avoid such blackmailing in Future. You played wrong with wrong Govt this time, IndiGo! It's not UPA Govt that can be kept in pockets by you.

Spirit Airlines stopped flying in May. Second bankruptcy in two years. Yet Google still wants to pay $10Million for the dead body. The planes are gone, the airport slots are sold. One asset left. At the bankruptcy auction, Google opened at 5 million dollars. An AI data company called Mercor countered at 7 and a half million. Then Google closed it at 10 Million. But the bids weren't for the planes or Airport slots. They were for 100 million internal emails. 500 million Teams messages. 30 million lines of code. Employee records that go back to 1986. And no, its not passenger data. This is purely internal: decades of how a real business thought, argued, and made decisions. Why pay that much for a dead company's inbox? Because it's the one thing AI can't fake. The most valuable data in the world right now is just real people thinking out loud… real decisions, real mistakes, real cause and effect. Which is why after the auction closed, another AI company came in with a 12 and a half million offer for it. Here's how you can leverage this kind of data for your business without a bankruptcy auction. People type their real, unfiltered questions into a search bar every single day… for free. And for business owners, those raw questions are a free roadmap: they tell you exactly what to create, what to fix on your site, and what to sell next. Tools like AnswerThePublic mine and present that exact data by looking at the different ways people search for a product. The AI data gold rush is just getting started, follow to not miss out!

ART BERMAN'S BASE CASE: OIL SPIKES TO $160 THEN STABILIZES PERMANENTLY AT $110 Petroleum geologist Art Berman built a probability model for the current oil crisis that rejects political theater and quick deals. He treats every forecast as a distribution of outcomes because the situation has no historical precedent. His base case carries the highest weight and it points to a permanent break from the energy world of 2025. ART BERMAN'S PROBABILITY MODEL ➡️ He maps best case, base case, and worst case scenarios instead of offering single predictions because no one can know the exact path through unprecedented disruption. ➡️ The best case assumes a perfect deal by early June yet still delivers only 50 percent of normal flows by the end of 2026 due to demining, insurance delays, and weeks of tanker queuing. ➡️ Even that optimistic path leaves three quarters of 2026 operating under severely reduced energy supplies with catastrophic economic consequences. THE BASE CASE THAT DRIVES EVERYTHING ➡️ Iran has no incentive to ever fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz and will likely maintain control indefinitely. ➡️ Restarting shut-in production faces massive lags from damaged reservoirs, lost investment confidence, and infrastructure that may never fully recover. ➡️ The global system faces irreversible change with no realistic path back to 2025 economic conditions. THE OIL PRICE PROJECTION ➡️ In the realistic base case oil prices will almost certainly spike into the 150 to 160 dollar per barrel range by summer. ➡️ Extreme prices trigger demand destruction that pulls Brent back down to around 100 to 105 dollars. ➡️ Prices then slowly rise and stabilize in the 105 to 115 dollar per barrel range through 2027 and likely beyond. WHY THIS SHOCK IS 60 TO 99 TIMES FASTER ➡️ The rate of supply loss is 60 to 99 times faster than the greatest previous oil shocks in recorded history. ➡️ No rapid solutions like vaccines or policy reversals exist this time to cushion the blow. ➡️ Inventories have masked the crisis so far but those savings are running out fast and the full impact is coming. THE BOTTOM LINE Art Berman's model shows the world just suffered its greatest energy blunder in modern history by jeopardizing the entire global economy with one move. Oil will spike hard then settle into a permanently higher range because the old supply system is broken beyond repair. #OilPrices #ArtBerman #EnergyCrisis #OilShock #HormuzBlockade #DemandDestruction #NewOilNormal HT: YouTube Palisades Gold Radio Art Berman

🚀 NEW EPISODE 🚀 Scaling the Agentic Internet Friederike Ernst 🦉 chats with Bowen Wang, Head of Protocol @ Near One, about blockchain scaling, AI, and how NEAR Protocol sets the ground for AI-native apps & the agentic economy. ‘Attention Is All You Need’, co-wrote by Illia Polosukhin in 2017, laid the foundation for arguably one of the most consequential tech breakthroughs in our recent history. 1 year later, Illia founded Near AI, which later became NEAR Protocol. They were visionaries ahead of their time and, although AI took several more years before becoming a viable product, the experience of scaling databases would later prove valuable and applicable in blockchain world. As a result, NEAR Protocol is one of the first blockchains to implement execution layer sharding, asynchronous execution and stateless validation, bringing the finality time down to 1.2 seconds, with a block time of 0.6 seconds.
