XRP’s Centralization Debate Took a Major Hit Asset manager, 21Shares, has challenged one of the longest-running criticisms surrounding ripple:native and Ripple’s relationship with the XRP Ledger. The asset manager says Ripple operates only one validator among roughly 35 on the default trusted list. XRP Ledger has more than 150 validators in total as per its documentation. For protocol changes, a minimum of 80% of the validators need to agree, which further reduces the control of Ripple.
