Ethereum security gets stronger when the ecosystem funds the infrastructure everyone depends on. We’re excited to announce a collaborative effort with the Ethereum Foundation on the End-to-End Formally Verified Vyper Compiler grant, now live in the ETHSecurity Initiatives Round. Vyper contracts are audited and verified at the source-code level,...

The trust stack has a gap most people don't think about: You audit the source code. You deploy the bytecode. You trust the compiler didn't change the meaning in between. Formally verified Vyper compilation closes that gap - machine-checked proof that what you wrote is what gets executed. This is "verify, don't trust" applied to the toolchain itself. 🔐 EF put in $100K. Now the ecosystem can stack on top. One of the deepest layers of Ethereum security, and one of the most overlooked 🙏📖

Tom Lee: Ethereum DATs can use ~$500 million in annual staking rewards to fund grants for Ethereum ecosystem “The Ethereum Treasuries — Bitmine and Sharplink among others — now own 7% of the Ethereum supply… Treasury stock is essentially supply permanently taken out from the ecosystem, but we also own the yield. The yield is around 3% so today these public treasuries are generating ~$500 million in rewards, and that is what we can use to fund and grant the crypto ecosystem.” Lee believes that the Ethereum Foundation narrowing its focus to CROPs (censorship resistance, openness, privacy and security) is the right decision. “Ethereum is a $240 billion network value entity. It has been operating for 11 years without a single day of downtime. There’s 11,500 nodes in 89 different countries. And there’s 15,000 developers. I think this is too big to be coordinated by a single foundation.” As Ethereum continues to scale, he believes the ecosystem will move beyond a foundation-centric model and points to private companies like Etherealize, Optimism, Consensys, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, and Offchain Labs that represent the Ethereum ecosystem and are already doing enterprise engagement. “This list doesn’t yet reflect the spinoffs coming from the Ethereum Foundation. There’s at least five, and I think Bitmine will play a role in granting and supporting any of those that come out.” “I think Ethereum is in good hands because the foundation is going to be stronger by staying focused. We have a lot of private sector companies already building products and important L2s on Ethereum. And of course, the treasuries are here to help with funding and granting… If you’re bearish, you are selling at the bottom.”

Etherealize CEO Vivek Raman: “L2s are the best business model in blockchain” Raoul Pal explains his view of Layer 2s on Ethereum: “We just created excess capacity versus current usage, and it will accrue to the base chain over time.” Etherealize co-founder Danny Ryan adds to this: “I think it’s Ethereum’s favor to have massive optionality in this layer that inherits the security of Ethereum and enhances the network effects of Ethereum. We’re going to continue to work on how these things communicate, how they resolve state differences, and all sorts of stuff like that… But one of the reasons many years ago that Ethereum went all in on that was it was the only way to scale Ethereum without sacrificing the decentralization of the L1.” Raoul emphasizes the importance of this point: “People underestimate scalability because they have no understanding of the scale of the financial system. They have no understanding of the sheer amount of transactions that happen, the speed that it happens, and the value that transacts. People just think, ‘Oh tokenized equities.’ They have no idea of what is required… you have the DTCC, then you have Euroclear — there’s endless numbers of them. People don’t even talk about the derivatives markets. The OTC derivatives markets are another couple of quadrillion dollars. Then you have the FX markets. The FX markets themselves do another $5 trillion a day. These numbers are stupid.” Etherealize CEO Vivek Raman comments: “It’s just naive for people to think that all of global finance can live in one layer. But it can live in one multi-layer ecosystem that has interoperability, ZK, and is future proof, and that’s what Ethereum is. Zooming out, we’re at such an early stage of the adoption curve — the people who say ETH won’t accrue value aren’t seeing how big the market can get. The other thing too that got me to become a bit of a Layer 2 maximalist is that from the bank or asset manager perspective, people want to own their own businesses and maximize profits. My take is that L2s are the best business model in blockchain, and it’s not just me saying that. Robinhood said, ‘We can get the security of Ethereum for virtually nothing, keep all of our operating margins to ourselves, and we’re attached to the liquidity of the largest ecosystem out there with the most stablecoins and tokenized assets. That’s the best pitch out there. Instead of building your own blockchain, just build an L2 and hook it to Ethereum.” Source: Raoul Pal (Apr 2026)
