According to an official release, Celo's emphasis on stablecoins dates back some six years to its launch in 2020, well before other networks adopted the stablecoin narrative. Polygon adds US dollar balances to its enterprise payments stack Open Money Stack customers can fund a dollar account by wire, ACH or SWIFT and hold it until a payment run, converting to stablecoins on demand. A licensed banking partner holds the balance. Polygon says that the setup removes a wire from each conversion, which matters when banks are closed. Non-US businesses can also pay US vendors in dollars, with no stablecoin leg.
