Crypto as We Know It Dies July 1, 2026 MiCA comes into full force on July 1, 2026. Over 90% of crypto platforms registered in the EU will be forced to stop serving European users. This is the end of crypto as we know it. Out of more than 1,200 crypto companies that were legally operating in the EU, only around 200 have obtained full authorization. That means roughly 80% to 90% of exchanges are either already gone or about to become illegal. MEXC and HTX have no license. Binance's fate is still uncertain. Even KuCoin, which did get licensed, was banned from taking new customers due to anti-money laundering failures. Revolut is de-listing Tether's $USDT stablecoin! According to Wu Blockchain, Revolut has issued a notice to its users saying it will terminate support for Tether's stablecoin at the end of August. It will stop accepting $USDT deposits at the end of July, with withdrawals still available until August 31. After that, any users $USDT holdings will be converted into fiat.

It fell from $189.325 billion to just $188.216 billion at around noon UTC on May 30.
