Full membership in the European Union is a complicated process that cannot guarantee quick integration of defense capabilities. Those are the reasons why the most effective instrument could be to look for some new instrument that would concentrate specifically on the integration of all the European defence capabilities. That is why we need the European Defence Union, which would allow to integrate defense capabilities of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Norway with those of willing European Union member states. Such an integration would also be a strong security guarantee for Ukraine after the just peace is established.

Trump has spoken multiple times about the opportunity of being the economic union with Canada that would create a behemoth economy. The signal to focus on is the economic union, particularly for defending the northern border that's melting, which has become a massive trade route where Chinese ships are going to cruise around. Every Canadian gets that. Then perhaps a union on the currency, a Euro type passport, and no tariffs. To get there there's a negotiation. Trump is starting that negotiation. You may not like the way he does it. He's very transparent. He doesn't mind if people watch the sausage being made.

🚨 Putin tells Pashinyan Armenia's EU bid means leaving EAEU 🚨 Russian President Vladimir Putin told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Bishkek on Tuesday that the adoption of a law launching the process of the republic’s accession to the European Union effectively amounts to a declaration of withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Pashinyan claimed that the law passed by the Armenian parliament did not mean an immediate withdrawal from the EAEU. According to the Prime Minister, Armenia is keen to maintain relations with Russia and wishes to have alternatives in the face of a changing international situation. "This process is not directed against Russia, nor against the Eurasian Economic Union, because we hold our relations with the Russian Federation in very high regard," Pashinyan continued. "We hope that these relations are important to Russia as well." Putin, however, did not agree with this interpretation, reaffirming that initiation of EU accession will, in Moscow’s view, withdraw Armenia from the EAEU. "Allow me to disagree with you. You said that you had not announced your withdrawal; but the passing of a law to initiate the procedure for joining another economic organisation effectively amounts to a declaration of withdrawal from ours, because membership of both is incompatible. That is the problem," Putin emphasised. "I agree that people should always have a choice. So give them one and let's put this matter to rest. It's as simple as that.
