The INDIA Opposition bloc wants to have a constructive debate with the Government on the NEET exam and the prevailing paper leak issue. It is unfortunate that we weren’t allowed to do so in Parliament today. This is a serious concern that is causing anxiety to lakhs of families across India. We urge the Prime Minister to debate on this issue and give the students the respect they deserve.

#WATCH | Jagtial, Telangana: BRS working president KT Rama Rao says, "Women's Reservation Bill was already passed by the Parliament in 2023. There was no need for this Bill to be linked with the delimitation exercise. Knowing fully well that if 2011's census or latest census becomes the basis for delimitation, southern India will lose out heavily. Modi Govt introduced this Bill, which they knew very well, will not be able to get the 2/3rd majority that is required for a Constitutional amendment. Therefore, we as BRS, certainly express our deep concern and deep protest with respect to stifling the voice of southern India in the Parliament. We request and demand the Union Govt to fulfill the promise given to the women of this country because the Bill was already passed in 2023 with respect to women's reservation. Even before population census is done , how did BJP arrive to 850 ? In the current house itself both BJP & Congress bulldoze sessions without giving chance to States like Telangana for issues to be raised in Parliaments and the same injustice in Union Budgets. Why is 50% raise not mentioned in the Bill ? As BRS Working President KTR opined Delimitation in this form is to destroy identity of South India ... Prime Time on Times Now ...

👉 I oppose the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, as this bill was introduced in Parliament without due consultation with transgender persons and other stakeholders. This itself shows the callous attitude of the Modi government. 👉 This Bill is not a reform; it is a regression. It takes away what the Constitution and the Supreme Court of India have already guaranteed. The Bill deletes the right to self-determination. 👉 Many transgender persons have already spoken about the immense barriers they face in securing a simple ID card. By adding more bureaucratic hurdles, we are not protecting them; we are exhausting them into invisibility. 👉 The Bill must be referred to the Standing Committee for detailed and inclusive consultation with the transgender community and all stakeholders. I urge the government to withdraw the Bill. : Jothimani ji in Lok Sabha

We support the Women's Reservation Bill, but the way this government has brought it is politically motivated. We have consistently supported women's reservation - in 2010 and again in 2023, when the Constitutional amendment was passed unanimously. Our demand is simple: implement the amendment instead of using it as a political tool. Secondly, the government is playing tricks on delimitation. All of us in the Opposition are united in this, and unitedly we have decided that we will oppose this bill. Let me make it clear, we are not against Women's Reservation. We are against the government's attempt to link it to an unclear census and a future delimitation process. The executive is taking powers that should remain with institutions and Parliament, creating scope to alter delimitation whenever it suits them politically. We have already seen such manipulation and deception in Assam and Jammu & Kashmir. That is why we will continue to fight unitedly on this issue.

There was an India before this Bill. The India that comes after this Bill strikes at the very fabric of our Constitution and the intent of its makers. Today, the government is asking us to hand over a blank cheque. This Bill contains no clear mention of limits such as a 50% increase, no clarity on the basis of delimitation, and no transparent safeguards to prevent arbitrary action. It leaves open the possibility of an unfair, unjust delimitation process and places enormous power in the hands of a committee that will be appointed by the executive itself. How can this be called fair in a functioning democracy? How are we expected to trust a government that, over the past 12 years, has repeatedly pushed through draconian laws without meaningful consultation or consensus in Parliament? Laws that reshape institutions, alter balances of power, and weaken the spirit of federalism! As Chief Minister Thiru M.K.Stalin has rightly said, this is a fight we are prepared to take to the streets and to the people of Tamil Nadu. Because when faith in the parliamentary process is eroded, the responsibility to defend constitutional values must return to the people themselves. #Delimitation #TNWillFightTNWillWin
