The logic is perfectly consistent with the Kremlin's hybrid war doctrine: deny the invasion, invert victim and aggressor, then demand the victim compensate the aggressor for the inconvenience of being invaded. Every time Putin opens his mouth he proves why this war cannot end in any negotiation he participates in. The regime's power is now entirely dependent on perpetual conflict. Stop the fighting and a million traumatized conscripts come home asking what the slaughter was for. That question is lethal to the system. Only military reality can impose an answer. The West still pretends these statements are bargaining tactics instead of clinical evidence that the Russian state project cannot coexist with a sovereign Ukraine. Time to stop analyzing Putin's hallucinations as if they contain coherent policy and start treating them as confirmation that the only path to continental security is the complete military defeat of this regime.
