🐒 Look at this! Punch kun has become very good friends with all the new baby monkeys at Ichikawa Zoo. The zoo had a good idea. They let many baby monkeys be born this year so Punch can play with them and feel happy. And the idea is working very well! The little baby monkeys think Punch is the same age as them. They like him a lot. they always come running back to play with Punch. They spin in circles together. They gently bite each other. They play wrestling. Two babies fight against Punch. They pull each other and roll on the ground. It looks so cute! The babies try very hard to win against their big brother Punch. They look so serious when they wrestle. But they are not scared of him. They know Punch is not too big. He will not hurt them. So they feel safe and happy to play with him every day. These are very happy days for Punch. He now has many little friends to play with! ❤️

The story of Punch-kun, known as Punch, the baby monkey, who was rejected by his mother. Punch, is a seven-month-old baby macaque monkey who inhabits the Ichikawa Zoo in Japan. Born in July 2025, Punch had to swallow a harsh reality when his birth mother refused and abandoned him shortly after he was born. Seeing this condition, the animal keepers at Ichikawa City Zoo immediately acted as foster parents. However, human hands alone were not enough to help calm the baby primate. Zoo officials then gave Punch an orangutan plushie, which he began treating like a "surrogate mother" or an “adopted mother”, keeping it close while navigating life inside the enclosure. He’s just a baby. Look at that sweet little guy. He looks so lonely. Be strong. God bless you little Punch. ❤️

Punch took the plushie 🧸 outside. Dark clouds gathered, and thunder ⚡ echoed through the sky. Punch looked up, completely confused, as if he was wondering, 'Why is the sky angry today?' 😆 Soon the rain started. While the other monkeys rushed off to find shelter, Punch sat alone, keeping watch and making sure nobody came near his precious plushie 🥹. The poor plushie 🧸 was getting soaked. Punch tried to drag it into the cave, but it was just too difficult. he gave up and retreated, leaving the wet plushie behind. 😔💔 #punch #punchmonkey

More information about Punch, the baby monkey at Ichikawa Zoo in Japan. He was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth and has been hand‑raised by zookeepers. They gave him a plush orangutan toy, which he carries everywhere, hugging it while he sleeps, using it for comfort when he feels nervous, and even taking it with him as he interacts with the other monkeys. In mid‑January, Punch was successfully introduced to a group of other macaques at the zoo, though he still stays close to his cuddly companion as he adjusts.

The moment little Punch finally tasted his first zoo enclosure meal today, March 03, 2026 — a big step forward! 🥜🍌 For weeks he ignored the food trays, jumped on keepers instead, and got special indoor feeds... but today he curiously reached out, sniffed, and took his very first bites like the other monkeys. 🐒❤️ Such proud progress, thank you Ichikawa zoo keepers for your endless patience and care — he's learning to trust the space and the routine. 🌟 Keep going, Punch! 🐵 Caption: Grok

Punch the 6-month-old macaques monkey has gone viral for seeking comfort in a stuffed orangutan that is like his "surrogate mom." Punch was abandoned by his real mom shortly after birth and the staff at Ichikawa City Zoo near Tokyo, Japan have been raising him. Punch, however, has hit some bumps in the road while trying to learn how to socialized with the other monkeys. In one viral video, another monkey is seen getting aggressive with him, but the zoo explained why that may happen. Here's what the zoo says about Punch's development – and why his "surrogate mom" stuffed animal is helpful.

The zoo gaslighting Punch and his supporters AGAIN. Punch is the only baby monkey without a mom. He is the lowest ranking troop member because of it. Punch is a target and much more susceptible to being attacked which we have been watching all week. The other monkeys have their mother and family’s protection. Punch had his dad a few minutes a day. It brings him comfort. The zoo has decided his dads are to have no contact with them. It’s deplorable and cruel.

Remember Punch, the baby monkey who melted hearts around the world? He went viral on the internet and became a tourist attraction because of his sad story. He was rejected by his mum and pushed away by other monkeys so he clung to his toy orangutan instead. But he’s growing up pretty fast, integrating better in the zoo and he might even be ready to give up his comfort plushie.

Punch was sitting alone quietly for a while. Meanwhile, one of the baby monkeys' moms came over and sat beside him. Punch looked surprised, wondering about this new mom, but decided to move away. As he walked past her, she also happened to get up and move in the same direction. For a moment, Punch seemed a little startled when she passed close by, but he didn't run away. Instead, they briefly looked at each other, and then both went their separate ways. 😊🐒💕 #punch #punchi

Punch was sitting alone when a baby came over to him. Punch looked at the baby but didn't say anything and happily let the little one sit beside him. After sitting together for a while, the baby tried to climb down. Punch got down too, carefully watching to make sure the baby landed safely. When the baby struggled to get down, Punch gently helped by supporting the little one until they reached the ground safely. 🥹🥹 Such a kind and caring big brother. Punch is taking his big brother role very seriously. ❤️ #punchi #punchmonkey

This morning Akira came and sat right next to Punch-kun like it was the most normal thing. At first Punch thought Akira was chasing him and quickly ran to hide inside the room 😂 Once he realized Akira wasn’t after him, he came back out and sat on the gate… and Akira just calmly sat beside him for a few seconds. Akira is always so chill around Punch, but that quiet king aura is unmatched 👑

Punch baby is finally back with Dad... and my heart can't take it. 😭🥹❤️ The zoo said it would be completely up to Punch whether he wanted to stay in the monkey mountain or return to the backyard. Today, it felt like he made his choice. It was as if Punch realized, "If I go inside, I'll miss Dad's warm hugs." So instead of leaving, he stayed close, wrapped his tiny arms around Dad, and Dad didn't hesitate for even a second. 🥹 No putting him down... no waiting... just straight into room together. 😭❤️ Some hugs say more than a thousand words. Today was one of those moments. Welcome home, little Punch. You and Dad truly belong together. 🫂🐵 #punchi #shikano

Punch was enjoying some snacks he picked up from the ground when a little baby came over. 🥹🐒 Punch looked so relieved and seemed like he had really been wanting to cuddle a baby. He gently pulled the baby close and cuddled it affectionately. 🥹❤️ Just then, one baby mom arrived. Punch immediately lay down and looked nervous, as if he was afraid she might scold him. 🥺 But to his surprise, the mother didn't mind at all. The baby happily stayed beside Punch, making him relax again. ❤️ When the baby tried to climb onto a bigger monkey, Punch gently held the baby back, as if he was worried the bigger monkey might get annoyed and scold both the baby and him. 🥹💕 Such a sweet and caring big brother moment from Punch. 🥹 #punch #ichikawazoo

426 baby tries to steal Punch’s stick, but Punch is not ready to sacrifice his precious stick at any cost—we already know that! 😂 But this little kid just can’t stay away and keeps following Punch, just like Punch follows Sotomaru. 🥹 Punch really has a different aura—he doesn’t even need to chase anyone; the babies come to him by themselves! Maru and Momiage must be jealous because the babies seem more interested in approaching Punch than them. 😂 I feel like they’re going to start clashing with Punch over this! 🤣🐒 #punch #punchmonkey

May 15 🐵 Punch, the Official Inspection & Safety Officer of Ichikawa Zoo, is back on duty After his dramatic attempt on that old dangerous rope, the zoo team quickly fixed and reinforced it. Today, Punch returned for a thorough inspection and he seems genuinely impressed with the upgrades! ✅ Satisfied with the work, he gave his official approval and immediately moved on to scout for the next safety issue that needs attention. Because for Punch, no rope is too high, no enclosure too messy, and no improvement is ever overlooked. Dedicated to making the zoo a safer, better home for all his fellow monkeys. Respect to the hardest-working inspector in the business! 👷‍♂️🍌

Punch is extra cute today 🤩🤩 Punch seemed to say goodbye to his big daddy Miyakoshi before giving his attention to Shikano, who had some of his favorite treats 🥔. After they finished supplying the food, they were about to leave, but Punch had other plans! While the keepers were busy discussing monkey topics, Punch was stuffing as much food as possible into his cheeks already and wrapping his cute fluffy body around Shikano's neck. 😍😊 Then he looked at Miyakoshi with his cheeks full of food and a munching face. 😄 Miyakoshi: "Hushhhh... 😤😤 This kid never changes." 🙄 Punch: 😊 Sorry for disappointing you, but nope... I will never change!" 🤣 Then Punch jumped onto the door 🚪, from the door to the floor, and from the floor straight to big daddy Miyakoshi! The keepers quickly realized what he was doing and took him back inside. Punch: "Mission accomplished! 😎 That was my ultimate goal all along!" 😂🐒 #punch #punchmonkey

Punch and Momiage were playing happily when another monkey came to wrestle with Momi. But Punch didn’t want her to play with any other monkey except him. Our little guy charged in full force to save his girl, only to get completely squished underneath them like a pancake 🥞😭. He lay there watching them for a moment, then somehow got free and tried again. The bigger monkey kept pushing him around like a toy, but this tiny fighter refused to back down. In the end, Punch kun managed to save Momi... or maybe the big monkey just got tired of the little one’s stubbornness and left 🐒 So cute and funny. This little king kong really doesn’t share his girl. #punch #momiage #wrestling

The zoo keeps saying the same old thing: "We have checked Punch and found nothing abnormal in his right arm. But we all saw how badly his hand was hurt in the videos. My question is simple: There are 5 newborns in the troop right now, yet only Punch is being targeted again and again by the same monkey. Why? This is NOT a natural environment. In the wild they might sort it out themselves, but here the zoo has a responsibility to step in when necessary to protect him. Punch being seriously injured or worse is what should concern everyone. Please do more than just observe 😔😔🥺

They are the trespassers of Monkey Mountain at Ichikawa Zoo. Because of these selfish people, thousands of genuine Punch Kun fans are now suffering just to get a proper view of our beloved Punch. After the zoo added netting and expanded the viewing area, things should have improved… but now? You only get about 10 minutes in the front row to catch a glimpse of Punch. Recording properly from the back rows has become almost impossible. We just want to watch the monkeys in peace 🐒 Stop ruining it for everyone.
