.World Health Organization (WHO) and partners managed to reach Al-Shifa — once the backbone of the health system in #Gaza, which is now an empty shell with human graves after the latest siege. The team witnessed at least five dead bodies during the mission. Most of the buildings in the hospital complex are extensively destroyed and the majority of assets damaged or reduced to ashes. Even restoring minimal functionality in the short term seems implausible. An in-depth assessment by a team of engineers is needed to determine if the remaining buildings are safe for future use. WHO and partners’ recent effort to support the revival of basic services at Al-Shifa are now lost, and people are once again deprived of access to lifesaving health care services. As famine looms, disease outbreaks spread, and trauma injuries increase, WHO urges immediate: - protection of remaining health facilities in Gaza - protection of health and humanitarian workers - additional land crossings to allow access into and across north Gaza - functional deconfliction mechanism - unimpeded access of humanitarian aid into and across the Gaza Strip - ceasefire.

Over 376,000 people have made their way to northern #Gaza since 27 Jan. Among those on the move are pregnant women, the elderly, persons with disabilities, the chronically ill, those in need of urgent medical care, and unaccompanied children. To support this massive movement, thanks to EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺, World Health Organization (WHO) has supplied fuel, tents, and equipment, enabling the PRCS to establish two trauma stabilization points on Al-Rashid road. These points ensure doctors and paramedics can provide essential health care for medical emergencies during the return. WHO remains on the ground, scaling up its response to address the growing health needs as more people arrive in northern Gaza.

More and more people are unable to access the resources they need due to digital literacy blocks. Papa has long been helping members adapt to new technology, and they've just announced an enhanced Digital Health Literacy (DHL) offering. The service will help grow virtual care access for dual-eligible, disadvantaged, and low-income members with at-home visits to help them learn the skills they need to access quality health care. Papa has completed more than 54,000 technology visits since January 2022, and their enhanced service will help even more people get the standard of care they deserve 💙

When the Trump administration announced plans to cut rates for home health care, I teamed up with a Republican colleague of mine to push back. And it worked—the administration reversed course. Together, we protected nearly a billion dollars in home health care funding so our constituents can get the care they need at home. And while standing up for Delawareans’ care, we also proved that bipartisanship can still deliver real results.

Rugby league is at the heart of so many communities, and clubs do outstanding work helping people through the most difficult times. The Men’s Health Strategy committed more investment for community based projects to help with the mental health. This is vital - suicide remains one of the biggest killers of men aged under 50.
