So this police officer stops my friend, claiming it’s an offence not to wear a reflector — in broad daylight even though my friend was in full reflective gear. Then, the officer takes his bike and rides off… No helmet. No gloves. Makes an illegal U-turn. Rides on the footpath. Reckless all the way. Let’s not forget he’s riding a bike that doesn’t even belong to him. Now here’s the real question: How do you enforce rules that you yourself don’t follow? Yutaka Take obviously isn’t at the level he was in his prime anymore, but I sometimes see people online criticizing the technical side of his riding style, and I get the feeling a lot of them probably don’t watch much American racing. There are many different riding styles. Take’s way of riding is clearly different even within Europe, but once you start looking at racing in other parts of the world, you can really see how technically skilled he is. There are top European jockeys with somewhat similar styles too. Cristian Demuro is interesting in that respect. When he rides in Japan, he sometimes looks more American in style than he does when riding in Europe, almost like his brother. If you know what you’re looking at, I think the differences are fairly easy to understand. Every style has its advantages and disadvantages. If you understand what Take is doing, I don’t think you can really criticize his riding posture itself. It’s quite a deep subject, though, so I can understand why some people don’t really get his style.

A video is going around causing quite the debate. Ring camera footage caught an argument between a grandmother and her son's baby mama. The grandmother approached the home and had her grandson ring the doorbell before asking the woman on the other end “when will you be back”? She then told her that she needs to prepare to find a babysitter for the child and that her son, who is also the child's father, isn't one. She says her son has to work so she needs to step up and find childcare. The two women argued back and forth, the grandmother then raised the point that her son is “just” the baby daddy and only has to get the child every now and then. Interesting logic about his parental responsibilities.

Jokes about the Japanese Prime Minister bringing in “a couple of melons as you do” while gesturing at his chest. Now he’s under pressure and suddenly it’s all her fault. Claims he “didn’t know” there’d be shag/marry/date questions (even though she says his team asked to remove Pauline Hanson from the original question). Says he’s only responsible for his words, while refusing to apologise for the melon comments about a foreign leader. He just passed Keating’s time as PM and this is what he’s defending. This is the “real” Anthony Albanese. And he still thinks he has nothing to apologise for. Australia deserves better than this.
