Viktor Hovland after winning $21.6M in 8 days: “It’s not like I’m spending money out the wazoo every week. I don’t need a lot to be happy, I don’t need a lot to live within my means. So, obviously it’s nice for my family to have that protection and my eventual kids that I’ll have in the future, it’s nice to have that. But, it’s not something that drives me, it’s not something that gives me meaning. I find meaning in other places.” Viktor is the best! 🙌🇳🇴

"How many railroads are in the top 10 market cap in the US? What about electricity companies? What about canal companies?" Building a technology that changes the world and capturing its rewards are two different things. "You don't need a Ferrari to go to the corner store to get milk. A Ford will work just fine." Dan Niles on where the value could move as AI gets cheaper, and why the eventual winners may sit on top of the infrastructure being built today.

President Trump has just announced the termination of California’s electric vehicle mandate. After all, if electric cars are so great, why do they need subsidies, mandates, and special quotas? Meanwhile, back in Australia, Albanese’s car carbon tax is about to take effect. This involves imposing a carbon tax on the purchase of new petrol and diesel cars, thereby increasing costs for Australian motorists. The eventual strategy is to make petrol and diesel so expensive that Australians are coerced into buying electric cars or giving up car ownership altogether.

.Chamath Palihapitiya: “I think central banks will realize that there are limitations to gold and limitations to Bitcoin, and will, as a result, seek out a completely new cryptographic paradigm that they can control on their balance sheet - one that is fungible, tradable, and completely secure and private. I think the reason why that privacy needs to exist is that, for the sovereignty of a country, you need to be in a position where you have assets that are not easily disclosed to anybody else - friends or enemies alike. Separately, from a cryptographic perspective, if you’re going to own a currency, you need to hedge against the eventual risk in the next five to ten years that there’s a quantum chip that can challenge the existing cryptographic schemes that are used.”

Happy Birthday, Raul Allegre! In desperate need of a consistent, dependable kicking game for their pursuit of a championship, the 1986 #Giants signed Raul. During a crucial two-game November stretch, he kicked nine field goals including back-to-back game-winners, helping lift the #NYGiants to their eventual first Super Bowl title. Prior to his arrival in New York, Allegre spent three years with the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts — earning Second-Team All-AFC honors as a rookie in 1983. In Week 17 of 1991 — in his final career regular-season NFL game (his only regular-season game as a Jet), Raul tied the game with :00 remaining, then kicked the overtime game-winner to send the Jets to the playoffs. $The City is planning to rebuild the dilapidated Mission Beach Lifeguard station for $25M which is a cost of nearly $6,000/ sqft. Built over 45 years ago, the city failed to adequately maintain the current structure or save for its eventual replacement. The lifeguards need a new facility, but it’ll take years to save up the $25M for replacement considering the city is broke. When it is cheaper to buy multiple beachfront mansions, it should raise serious concerns about why the city is spending so much on this project when comparable structures are built in the private sector for a fraction of the cost. If the cost of construction was closer to market rates, it would allow the city to build the new facility much quicker which would be better for the lifeguards and taxpayers.$

Knicks pull off a Game 4 W for the ages. My takeaways: -The Spurs need a heartbreak to prep for their eventual Championship, and tonight was it. Every great team has gone through this. They'll cry in the locker room tonight and be better for it in the coming seasons -I never felt SAS' lead was safe. The Knicks are the more mature team, they're physical, and they smell blood when it's in the water. You can't let a team like that hang around. You gotta kill them off fully -Experience is trumping talent in this series. The Spurs are the most talented team left, but the "somewhat" talented, ultra-experienced extremely gritty Knicks know how to close. Last year's heartbreak, imo, against Indiana built this -Beat the Spurs now. Because Wemby and Dylan Harper for the next 10 years is scary.

Here’s Elon Musk in 2003 outlining the strategic plan SpaceX has been following until today. “Our approach is really to make this a solid, sound business. I predicated the strategic plan on a known market, something that we know for a fact exists, which is the need to put small to medium-sized satellites into orbit. That's what we're going after initially. And then, with that as a revenue base, we will move into the human transportation market. The long-term aims of the company are definitely human transportation. I think the smart strategy is to first go for cargo delivery, essentially satellite delivery. And our eventual upgrade path is to build the successor to Saturn V, build a super-heavy lift vehicle that could be used for setting up a moon base or doing a Mars mission. That would be the holy grail objective.” Stanford University, October 8, 2003

Robots are going to the moon before we do in the next 4-6 years. "I think any place that we believe there is a realistic probability of building a um you know an eventual human outpost. So the moon for sure we're absolutely going to build a base there and make uh the most of it. So any area that you're going to have uh you know human involvement eventually. The best guess under over when we see the first humanoid robot walking on the moon. In my mind, I I would think on the uncrewed lander demonstrations, which both Blue Origin and SpaceX need to do in advance of the lunar landing, that's already uh contractual. I'd kind of be shocked if somebody didn't smuggle one on board. But we're not waiting that long, right? I mean, you're you're talking the next 4 years, maybe 6 years as a window."

Chamath says Anthropic should sacrifice valuation to raise at least $200 billion, because even that barely buys the compute needed to survive a correction “Here’s my very specific thing about why I think they should price it to clear the market for $200 billion—and I’m specific about that number. They need, in my estimate, at least $200 billion. If you want to be super safe, a quarter-trillion gets the job done. “What does the price need to be to attract that incremental dollar off the sidelines? Can they raise $80 billion in an IPO at $1.7, $1.8 or $1.9 trillion? I think so, handily. Can they raise $100 billion? Maybe it’s pushing it. At $150 billion, I think you need to be back down to $1.5 trillion.” JCal: “You’re saying you want them to raise more money at a lower valuation so they have a war chest.” Chamath: “$150 billion at $1.5 trillion is not enough. $200 billion barely gets them a few gigawatts. That is the bottom-line math if Anthropic is going to go through and survive an eventual correction. “I think it’s much better for them to have $200 billion to $250 billion today than to try to ring the bell at $1.9 or $2 trillion for $80 billion, file a mixed shelf—which takes about six months—and hope the markets are in line. “I just think there’s more risk in the future than there is today. Why take the risk? Price it to clear the market.”

🚨 SOMETHING VERY STRANGE IS HAPPENING Congress holds CLARITY Act hearings TOMORROW. But the market is already pricing the delay. Translation: Nothing is getting finished tomorrow. Last time CLARITY got delayed: Bitcoin: $97K → $61K -38%. Four weeks ago, I warned you about this exact setup: Hype → delay → panic → insiders accumulate → eventual passage Now we’re entering that phase again. Tomorrow can bring the headlines. It can bring the pump. But if nothing actually passes, that pump becomes the trap. Retail buys the headline. Insiders take the liquidity. Then comes the shakeout. And only AFTER that comes the real accumulation. The bill doesn’t need to fail. It only needs to be delayed. That’s the trap. Retail is waiting for CLARITY. Insiders are waiting for the bottom. Reminder: I’ve been trading markets for more than 15 years. I’m watching the insiders and the liquidity around this setup very closely. When I see the move that matters, I’ll post it here publicly like I always do. Turn notifications on. If you’re not following yet, you’ll understand why that was a mistake later.

$Russian President Vladimir Putin has now made it clear that Moscow’s ambitions are no longer confined to the four Ukrainian oblasts, but extend across what Russia calls Novorossiya, from Kharkiv to Odesa. If this continues, Ukraine risks losing vast additional territories and being reduced to a landlocked rump state, retaining only a fraction of the territory it internationally controlled before February 2022. Odesa and Kharkiv are increasingly being treated by the Kremlin as strategic objectives, while every additional year of war risks making Ukraine’s position weaker and the eventual price of ending the conflict higher. At some point, American and European policymakers need to confront the consequences of their strategic choices. Dismissing Russia’s stated security concerns and pursuing NATO expansion closer to Russia’s borders did not make the security dilemma disappear. It helped create a confrontation in which Ukraine is paying an enormous price. The brutal question is whether a more realistic approach to European security, one that took Russia’s security concerns seriously rather than simply dismissing them, could have prevented this catastrophe. History will judge very harshly the decisions that allowed a preventable security crisis to turn into a devastating war.....$

The truth about the Muslim prophet Muhammad “Muhammad met his wife, Safiyya bint Huyayy, after massacring her village in the Battle of Khaybar. He killed both her husband and father, and then gave her 2 choices: Be a sex slave or convert to Islam and marry him. She married him. “How long after the murder of her father and husband did Muhammad wait to sleep with her? Just 3 days….” “Before Muhammad married Aisha, who was 6 years old, he claimed to have received a divine sign about their eventual matrimony. What was the sign? A. Two identical dreams of an angel delivering her to him wrapped in a silk blanket B. Heard a heavenly choir of 88 angels singing when he first laid eyes on her C. After serving him water, he became intoxicated D. And then was approached by an angel in the Valley of Iskahar who told him The answer was A He married a 6 year old because he dreamed about a 6 year old twice… It’s hard to imagine how low your IQ would need to be to follow Islam and believe this Muhammad nonsense

Quantum computing sounds scary when you hear “it could break crypto” but that’s not where we are today! Binance CSO Jimmy Su put it pretty simply. current quantum computers aren’t even close to cracking the cryptography protecting bitcoin, ethereum and other major networks. no reason to panic rn the part actually worth watching is what happens before quantum gets there post-quantum crypto already exists. NIST finalized its first standards for it in 2024. the hard part is getting the whole ecosystem to adopt it. chains, wallets, exchanges, custodians, millions of users. that’s years, not a switch flip exchanges are already in on this. binance for one has been tracking quantum developments, evaluating post-quantum security standards and preparing its infrastructure for the eventual migration. still an ecosystem problem tho. no exchange can become fully quantum-safe on its own if the chains and wallets around it aren’t ready too. meanwhile, the real risks are way less sci-fi phishing, malware, social engineering, compromised credentials, sloppy wallet security that’s what users actually need to worry about today, not quantum computers worth prepping for early. not worth panicking over yet 🧠

🚨 URGENT INSIGHT: For Iran, This is EXISTENTIAL! ⚠️ Col. Douglas Macgregor (Douglas Macgregor) warns on #IranConflict: "A lot of this Chinese technology on the air defense side is new. It hasn't been tested in combat. So it's very difficult to distinguish hyperbole from what could be real." "But the point is, it doesn't matter. What we need to understand is that for Iran, this is an existential war." "We are trying to induce the disintegration of the state and its society. That's what this is about." "Take Iran off the board… means disintegration and collapse of Iran and its society." 🔥 Bombing Iran won't fix anything for the U.S.—it's a path to strategeci failure at best or - in a worst case scenario - an eventual military defeat. No one though it was even possible the US could lose to the Taliban in the mid-2010s, but it happened. And who would have imagined hat after only 7 weeks, we would abandon a fight against the Houthis, yet that, too happened. Our position aginst Iran is nowhere near as iron-clad as many of the most boistrous war-lusters would have us all believe. Watch the FULL CLIP now:
