President Trump has just announced the termination of California’s electric vehicle mandate. After all, if electric cars are so great, why do they need subsidies, mandates, and special quotas? Meanwhile, back in Australia, Albanese’s car carbon tax is about to take effect. This involves imposing a carbon tax on the purchase of new petrol and diesel cars, thereby increasing costs for Australian motorists. The eventual strategy is to make petrol and diesel so expensive that Australians are coerced into buying electric cars or giving up car ownership altogether.

Knicks pull off a Game 4 W for the ages. My takeaways: -The Spurs need a heartbreak to prep for their eventual Championship, and tonight was it. Every great team has gone through this. They'll cry in the locker room tonight and be better for it in the coming seasons -I never felt SAS' lead was safe. The Knicks are the more mature team, they're physical, and they smell blood when it's in the water. You can't let a team like that hang around. You gotta kill them off fully -Experience is trumping talent in this series. The Spurs are the most talented team left, but the "somewhat" talented, ultra-experienced extremely gritty Knicks know how to close. Last year's heartbreak, imo, against Indiana built this -Beat the Spurs now. Because Wemby and Dylan Harper for the next 10 years is scary.

I predicated the strategic plan on a known market, something that we know for a fact exists, which is the need to put small to medium-sized satellites into orbit. Although light volume we are seeing leadership continue to shine! - $UFO can be argued was the strongest group on Thursday. SpaceX IPO is on the horizon and can likely cause a frenzy in the smaller space related names $PL $RKLB $ASTS $LUNR $GSAT - $SMH encouraging action from your semiconductors. $MRVL $AMD $TER $ASML $FORM $AEHR $INTC - Memory stocks have a powerful up week with $MRVL $SNDK $WDC $STX choosing to wake up. - Optics very much a leading group $LITE $CIEN $GLW $VIAV $AAOI. - Despite $USO being up double digits we saw some continued profit taking in the oil and gas names $XOM $VLO $COP $MPC $CVX. - $DXY something to monitor closely. If the Dollar starts to move out from a stage 1 base I think it's possible the metals trade continues to suffer along with on emerging markets. - $XBI held up very well during this market downturn. They still act like the beneficiary of the eventual drop in interest rates. - $IWM did a great job living above the 200sma. Russell is comprised of many regional banks $KRE and biotechs. Almost hard to believe it could be the group which leads us higher if/when the downturn in the markets is done. - Feels like an important week on the cusp of a follow through day but no need to get excited. C Cole Messina (@GamecockBasebll) is going to be a fun follow this spring. After playing sparingly as a true Freshman in 2022, Messina had a strong summer in the Northwoods League and hit .294/.410/.483 with 10 2B, 5 HR, and 40 RBIs. Proceeded to have a stellar Sophomore campaign, hitting .307/.428/.615 with 18 2B, 17 HR, and 65 RBIs in 62 games. Was a First Team All-SEC selection and a Third Team All-American. Thick, ultra-physical build at 6' and 230-lbs. Stands nearly upright in the box with a slightly open front side. Somewhat high handset, starts with the head of his bat pointed almost straight down behind his back shoulder. Small stride, gets his swing going with a bit of a barrel tip and without much of a load. Bat speed is plus. Messina has a pull-oriented approach and an above average feel for the barrel. Bat-to-ball skills are advanced, and in '23 he sported an overall IZ contact rate of 90% (90% against FB, 92% against SL). Sound pitch recognition skills and doesn't really expand the zone. Would put a 55 on the hit tool. His natural strength and physicality allows him to generate high-quality impact on a regular basis. Max EV in '23 was 108. Overall raw power is a 55, but a 60 to the pull side. There are some defensive question marks, but Messina is a sneaky athlete behind the dish. Moves well laterally. However, his overall catching skillset will need to become more polished.
