People vastly underestimate the damage parents can cause to their kids

I am one of those kids. Grew up thinking my father didn’t want me, hated him for it, come to find out he never stopped trying to find me but was afraid of what my step-dad would do to me if he pushed to have access to me. I ended up having several wonderful years with him before pancreatic cancer took him, but I will never truly be able to forgive my mom for keeping me from him.

TY so much for posting this. We must restore fathers and childrens relationships. End custody. Equal liberty for parents equal access for children.

Then they wonder why kids end up hating the parent that stayed

The damage women like this cause their own children. It’s like it never occurred to her that one day her children would grow up, and discovered this stuff on their own. But they would see through her lies and deception. Yeah, she really stuck it to her exes, didn’t she? Except now, her children don’t wanna have anything to do with her anymore. And what a winner she is. Two different baby daddies. On the bright side, it’s great that this young man is connecting with his real father. He needs him, even now as an adult.

My wife's mother did something similar. She thought her dad didn't want to see her. Really evil...

This is why I teach dads how to battle in family court, where the cards are stacked against them. Dads shouldn't have to wait until their kids are grown up to finally have a real relationship with them.

Women have the power to control emotions of their children. They can make you hate your father effortlessly.

This is the number one reason why most children grow up without fathers in their lives.

A lot of these women do this to prove a point that they don’t have. Honestly, I think most women that do this are descendants from the tribe that used to butcher black men in Africa the Amazons of Dahomey.

Sadly this is a common thing that vindictive, bitter women do...especially if the father is a good dude that moves on and does better in life than when he was with the mom. Thanks to Georgia's new law, things may be about to change to finally favor dads.

A lot of women are guilty of this.

Women care only about themselves and their narratives. Yes, even over their own kids.

Many women do this to their children, even here in Ghana and it's straight out sad.

My parents told me lies about each other, but they both left me when I was four. I dont bleive anybody, don trust anybody. And became a successful family therapist. Somehow? Or because of that?

There is a legal term for this. Parental Alienation. Happens in approximately 30% of divorces/breakups. Judges see this as a form of child abuse. Went through this with my Ex, got custody of my son, and $80K in legal fees. The court battle will cost you.

I 100% relate to this. I'm now 56 and he's dead. I never once got to meet him. I will never forgive her.

Been there lived this. Met my Dad at 19 after joining the Navy. Found out the truth. Then found out my step father was actually a pretty cool guy at 40 something, it suddenly all made sense. It was mom.

My mother did this to me. Told me terrible things about my father like he was a pdf file and he's a dirty old man. None of it was true and he'd spent years and so much money trying to find me, and she was just up and moving us all the time. I'm so grateful that I got some time with him before he passed, he was a really cool dude. Don't do this to your kids, they will never forgive you.

It happens more than we will ever know. And it will continue to happen until we get automatic 50/50 custody in all 50 states. No more automatic child support, alimony or the women getting everything. Until divorce is no longer a money grab!

Unfortunately I went through a similar situation. Fortunately me and my son are talking again, it is what it is at this point. I tried my best during the younger years, but his mom was extremely manipulative and drove a wedge in between us for a good period of time.

One of the worst things a mom can do to a kid especially if that dad is doing what he suppose to do to fully support his child. We gotta stop this cycle of broken families

nothing but facts here. i dated a girl who grew up in a family like this. all the family she had around her was women who all had multiple kids from different men and didn't do anything to keep any of those men as fathers. her own dad was a great guy. working hard out of state.

Hidden and manipulative violence is often worse than open and visible violence. At least you know what is beating you, while the other often comes disguised as love, nurture, protection, or care. The devouring mother is a master at this and has centuries of atavistic memories to draw upon.
