Just don’t see this as a thing. Mbappe and Messi have never played in the premier league. They’ve played in world class leagues that have been broadcasted and that hasn’t “threatened” the popularity of the premier league at all.

The EPL was no more popular than any of the other European leagues. It certainly couldn't attract the very top level of the worlds best footballers until they got the massive TV deal. The Saudis are doing exactly what EPL teams have for over 10 years. Dry your eyes.

Brand identity will be difficult to create for the Saudis, Football is very tribal it has to matter to the individual watching, There’s no doubt it’ll create a huge level of interest though if it eventually has the best players.
