Ever since watching this video,I’ve been wondering: why didn't African American slaves just form a union to negotiate better working conditions with their masters? And why didn't the Native Americans simply file a formal complaint when their land was taken away? Surely the colonizers would have listened to some... show more

Paolo Mieli stands as one of the worst ideologues of settler colonialism in Italian TV. They'll invite him a thousand times but never Francesca Albanese or Lorenzo Kamel. Otto e Mezzo from La7 pretends to be high-brow discussion, but shows incredible racism when covering anything involving non-Europeans - from migration to the ethnic cleansing and genocide in Palestine. It's telling: their ratings aren't even that high, yet like U.S. mainstream media, they never question their dwindling numbers or contested legitimacy. When will they finally include non-European voices in their public sphere? They seem too busy platforming colonial apologists to notice their own irrelevance.

You couldn't have said this better!

This is intellectual and moral dishonesty of the highest order: there is NO WAY Gaza was free after 2005.

@enti_ande It is forbidden for an occupying power to transfer its population to the occupied land, by the way! 😂

Gaza before the onslaught: Not only were the borders controlled through land and sea blockades; water, electricity, even the intake of calories per inhabitant was curbed and rationed by Israel. Food, Medicine, fertilisers for agriculture all were hard to import. 90 % of water was also undrinkable. As a result 63% of the population was dependent on foreign aid while 80% lived in poverty. Having had to wait 10 hours simply to buy bread was not unusual. But opening McDonald’s would have done the trick. What a clown!

That’s exactly right. The colonial undertone of those statements can lead listeners to believe that Gazans are inherently incapable of developing a peaceful and prosperous society. This echoes the rhetoric of some Israeli leaders who claim that Gaza could have become like Singapore, blaming Gazans for their current conditions. It’s sickening. By the way, “the internal review of EU aid to Palestine must be done against a backdrop of reports that over 72 percent of foreign aid to Palestine actually ends up benefitting the Israeli economy”😏

Mrs @tara_riva Paolo Mieli is a CAMERATA ✋ who glorifies the Zionist propaganda. One of us, in other words.

😂😂😂😂
