Ever wondered how high-voltage cables are so securely fastened to poles?

He didn't tap the top of it and say "this isn't going anywhere" It'll fall apart in a week now.

It does not feel secured to me. This thin wire can not hold the weight of the main cable if it moves for any reason (wind, car crash on the pole, electrical vibration, etc...)

That wire doesn’t look like the electrical kind. Maybe a support wire?

He must be new at it. Doing good, but slow. No one ever asked him “what do you do after work? Drink 1 - 3 - 2 beer. That’s how you loop it, 1 - 3 - 2 fan it, lock it. Make sure you leave enough tail for the next guy!

The stupidity in many of these comments is unreal. 😅

I swear I don’t know how they do it. Even with all that PPE, there’s still thousands of volts going through those lines! Hats off to all those who keep our lights on.

Linemen don't get enough credit or pay.

It’s a guide wire. Idiots everywhere.

Don’t understand why the orange rubber covers when handling live wire standing inside insulated bucket.

Pre formados e isoladores da PLP são mais práticos e eficientes

Lighting "rod". Not high voltage at all.

This guy makes $60,000 while the woman with a marketing degree sending emails to your spam folder makes $100,000.

Ha! let's see a gender studies major do that.

They move. The high current creates Lorentz effect. The magnetic force pulls and pushs between parallel cables or metal structure. There is also mechanical vibration and tension due to wind and temperature

Might be a sky wire. Will disperse stray voltage but not meant to carry main voltage.

So you just twist the thingamabob around the doohickey a few times. Got it.

That’s the complete wrong way to tie in wire

Nope, I’ve never really wondered that, but thanks.

Bei uns werden dafür spezielle Seilklemmen, womit die Seile mit passendem Drehmoment befestigt werden.

não é assim não, existem conectores específicos

He should've gave it a tap and said "This isn't going anywhere"

It only has to break in one place to fail.

It only has to break in one place to fail..

When I rise to "Power" we will schedule a power failure so that the linemen will be more safe. People can go without electric for an hour or two.

I still wonder.

Until it’s the east indians saturate the field

A true thing of beauty. Nuff said.

This can NOT be the normal way to fix the cable onto a pole! How stupid do you think the engineers/trades are not to make any clamps for the connection but to wrap it manually every time.

Kudos to the guys that do that. I'm scared to death of electricity

Touch it with your tongue, I dare you! I double dog dare you!!

Why cut when there’s just a few inches left.? Just use all of it.

Навіщо їх замотують резиною?

Missed one turn on the left keep practicing

I’ve never wondered about that.

And that’s a wrap!
