The missing top of an ancient pyramid If you ever wondered what the very top of an ancient Egyptian pyramid actually looked like you need to see this incredible stone. This massive piece of carved black rock is a pyramidion which is the capstone that sat at the absolute highest point of a pyramid. It specifically belonged to the Black Pyramid of Pharaoh Amenemhat III built at Dahshur roughly 4000 years ago.
