They had nowhere to go and were out of options so they wished each other luck probably shook hands, and jumped. God rest and keep them. If there is any justice or Karma, one day people will hang for this mass murder.

some people were holding hands on the way down

Here’s what they would’ve been looking out at, approximate height-wise.

Does anyone know who this firefighter is and what he has become? He broke my heart, this look that changes instantly when he hears the unbearable sound of falling bodies. He very quickly understands the horror he is witnessing with his comrades, they are heroes. Never forget. 🇺🇸🕊️

25 years later and this may be the one of the worst clips I've seen of this tragedy. Just devastating.

I've been 155 stories up in the Burj Khalifa in Dubai which is a lot taller but even when I was there all I could think about what the desperation it would take to jump from 100 stories on 9/11. None of us can begin to fathom what these people went through. RIP to their souls

How many of these firefighters died shortly after this video was taken?

Everyone in the north tower lobby when the south tower fell made it out alive

The man married to one of the victims said it really eloquently: when you're in a periless situation you have no controll over and can't do anything, you still have controll over how you're going to die at least and that's what they did.

I remember the networks didn't realize that those were people falling from the towers then abruptly stopped it. must have been horrifying for the firefighters to listen to that and feel helpless about it.

This still haunts me every time I see it. I can’t even imagine how it affected those on the ground who had to see it and hear it.

Free falling for 10 seconds sounds terrifying. But knowing you're gonna fall onto concrete from that height gotta be the worst feeling imaginable

This could be the worst one of all

I cannot imagine the trauma from experiencing this.

One of the most surreal video clips of all time

In the book Fall and Rise by Mitchell Zuckoff, there is a horrendous interview with either a police officer or a fireman, can’t remember which, but was standing on the sidewalk when a body splattered onto the ground right next to him.

Father Judge there, praying for the repose of their souls ✝️🙏

I have watched almost every clip of 9/11 but nothing made my heart ache like this one. And seeing those devstating faces of firefigher who feel defeated for not being able to save those lives.

We're talking about seasoned firefighters who probably at this stage of their career have seen everything imaginable giving the most terrified look one could possibly wear. That's terrifying.

25 years later and the sounds, videos, and pictures I’ve seen of the people who chose to jump instead of burn to death is always what stuck with me the most. It encapsulates the horror and desperation of these events like nothing else to me.

Every single person who downplays 9/11 should await the most horrendous of punishments in the afterlife. Those sounds were people, with hopes, dreams, and loved ones. Our fellow citizens. Innocent. And that's how they met their death. I will never forget.

6-10 second fall meaning ?

It took 6-10 seconds to hit the ground depending on which floor they jumped from in the tower

@SRT_Fan_rahul A bit more

@SRT_Fan_rahul ive counted 5-7 from watching the videos then extrapolated and acounted for them being hidden by smoke, ect.

😢 The media hid this while it was happening

That’s devastating. 😢

At least those people's deaths was instant, likely painless, despite their fright. A better and more humane way to go than to slowly die of a painful death by asphyxiation and/or being burned alive. I understand and respect their choice.

I guess they choose… burned alive or smash the ground. What an impossible situation, just…. Awful. I never wanted to go into super tall buildings after this.

as a FF I can empathize with the commentary.. there's some things no matter how hard you try you can't unhear them.

If you haven’t, PLEASE check out the Naudet brothers documentary. It has the only know footage of the first tower being hit, and (I believe) the only footage from inside that tower, which you are watching now.

Look at their eyes. They knew what was ahead of them in terms of the task and didn’t give a single shit about the race, colour, politics or gender of those they were being sent tho save The best of humanity in a 10 second clip

I can only imagine what must be going on in the jumper's minds. The fact that it was preferable to escape the heat by jumping than to travel remotely close to it is somberly fascinating.

The footage shows Mychal Judge final moments. The first confirmed casualty of the September 11th attacks, Mychal Judge was killed inside the World Trade Center's North Tower due to falling debris from the collapsing South Tower.

Chris Hopewell footage, recorded on September 11, 2001, from the rooftop of 475 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Grok says this is legit 9/11/2001 audio and video.

It's heartbreaking that after this horrendous experience, America has welcomed with open arms the very ideology that engendered that murderous terrorist attack. The US hasn't learned from history. Very disrespectful to the thousands of victims & firemen who lost their lives.

@SandBar1996 my first time seeing this vid. Horrible man

And now a Muslim mayor laughs as their names are read out

And it even killed an officer like it’s so terrifying. Even more terrifying when you realize everyone saw their bodies explode. RIP to all that lose their lives holy shit.
