Every *catchable* target for Worthy through 4 weeks. *Two route-pass location miscues not included, plus final pass vs LV + Best in open space & on the move (crossers and crossers) - 15/19 balls were caught against the body, double underhand - Rarely working back to the ball

The good? Get him up to speed across the field to avoid vertical squeeze/contact, keep him moving through the catch. Some flashes getting outta hard breaks (Whip great counter to the Drag) or quick hitters vs off-coverage when the ball can come on upfield path/momentum.

Questions? Catch radius is limited. Rarely attacks the ball w/ hands, only 4/19 attempts. All were forced by ball location (2 on a screen at facemask height), 1 was a PBU (didn't work back), and 1 was dropped. Best usage just feels narrow in scope rn, lingering shoulder inj?

Thornton has been the rare hands catcher in KC in recent memory. At least with speed. Hopkins was slow. It’s a huge deal people ignore. Body catchers drop balls. Get balls jarred loose and have tiny catch radius.

Juju had strong hands too (notable that all three names now mentioned were originally on other teams).

True. I did add “with speed” tho Could add Kelce to the list of successful hand catchers.

Would be great if he didn’t try to stop and redirect on a lot of these catches. That move never works and the first strong breeze knocks him over then. Just use that “4.21 speed” and sprint to the boundary and wreck some angles.

That first minus has been bothering me for years and was one of the reasons I loved having Tyquan out there. Seemed like he always caught with his hands. Also good in contested situations. Weird

@hbtCHIEFS Never seen anyone watch how many body catches someones has. Y’all want Tyreek Hill but he is a known body catcher

@hbtCHIEFS Couple things It’s pretty basic and common to see a WR catches a football. And who here wants Hill back in KC???? He is also a body catcher and no one has ever said he has “excellent hands” BUT he makes up for it elsewhere.

@hbtCHIEFS Y’all are knit picking with Worthy 4 games into the season.

@hbtCHIEFS I do not think looking at how a WR catches a football is nitpicking.

@hbtCHIEFS He been in the league 3 years and now your keeping stats on it?

Change of direction and deceleration are subpar. Those whip routes are awful. RAC is nonexistent.

Agree in the general sense, the deceleration -> acceleration are subpar and change of direction is a lil sticky. The Whip works because it's countering off his best "threat" that speed across the field.

I’d like to see a break down of Thorton’s route tree versus Worthy and how much is even remotely replaceable. I don’t need to see anymore gadgets or screens to X ever.
