Run him back to 3rd. Call time out. Look at the coach and call him a bush league loser whose kid will top out in 10u

As a coach, I absolutely hate when kids do this. Yes, it's legal, but it's really stupid and shows that you have no idea how to coach a team. If you need to steal runs like this, you suck BAD as a coach. Guy coaching 3B should be embarrassed he's in this video because he SUCKS

I was 12 years old, a hotshot catcher. This team we played abused me doing this in our playoffs. Our team was really good. I cost us a win due to these shenanigans. Still think about it 38 years later….

Walk him back to the base and call time out. Weak coaching.

Why isn't anyone covering home?

The catcher is every coach's worst nightmare. Run him all the way back to 3rd, call time, throw the ball to the pitcher.

I coached my daughter's softball team for years and this is the most annoying thing a coach can have their team do. It wastes so much time.

Two things. Catcher could easily call time out. Any coach would yell that out to his player. The third base coach encouraging the runner to do this, rather than getti g back on 3rd is a dick and should not be coaching.

I hate this crap. Such a waste of time. Coaches, do better. I tell my catcher to walk him back slowly all the way to the base. Call time out when he gets there. Then walk back to the plate. We can all waste our time playing stupid games.

Either just stand there and wait for the ump or......walk him close to third get in position and throw it to the third baseman and practice a normal rundown. (This third baseman did not look capable of running however)

Why not just flip the script? Catcher should just stand at home plate until that third base runner decides he’s done acting like an idiot and goes back to third.

We’ve played teams like this. I just yelled to my catcher loud enough for everyone to hear, “just stand in front of home plate! If they want to waste the entire game with that nonsense, let ‘em!”

Call timeout every time. OR catcher runs full speed at the runner and tags him at full speed when he is on third base. Keep running him over till the kid stops.

There’s got to be SOMEONE screaming “COVER HOME!!” What’s the first base kid doing? The pitcher? The COACHES?? Every single dad in the audience? COVER HOME PLATE!!!!! Ever single adult failed those kids.

As an ump, I would call time.

That happened once when I played. The runner got “accidentally” nailed in the back by me. Then I walked over picked up the ball and tagged the runner out.

The only thing bad about this is that clearly that should have been a easy out but there was no defense for this trick play.

First the blue team is coached poorly. Teach how to prevent this and it doesnt happen. Pitcher/ first cover home. Catcher run him back and throw to 3rd to pick him off. Short / left back up 3rd. Learn the pickle drill. A kid caught between bases should be thrown out.

The umpire should toss that shithead from the game

I don’t know why we don’t just tell the catcher to stay home no matter what, with the ball. Eventually when the game isn’t being played the ump and even their own parents will tell them to stop.

When this shit happens. Pitcher covers home plate. Next at bat put a ball clear through the Batters rib cage and keep sending them to the hospital in the same ambulance.

This shit needs to stop in little league and hell I have seen it at the junior high level. It’s dumb. Coaches need not encourage it, and umpires need to start calling the base runners out.

Come on; run at the guy, throw when he's close to third and run him down. Make sure the pitcher is backing up the catcher and rotate. If they want to play games you run them down. concentrate on the guy at third. You'd rather have a guy on second with one out than 1st and third with 0 outs.

I was a catcher. I sat on home and made the umpire make a decision. I told the umpire I will sit on home until he makes a call for timeout. Parents won't like that we played one inning in an hour and 5 minutes.

I saw this happen at my nephews game a couple years ago. Catcher drilled the runner in the chest from like 5 feet away. It was amazing

Sneak the 3rd baseman behind him and throw it to him, acting as a cutoff. Pitcher should be at home. SS wheels to 3rd. End that garbage
