Like the plot to a dystopian movie, New York will now monitor social media writings, collect data, and use law enforcement to crack down on any expression it deems to be hate speech.

President Ruto: Katiba Day must be more than an annual anniversary; it must be a day of national accounting. Have we faithfully implemented the Constitution, protected the rights it guarantees and held our institutions accountable to the citizens they serve?

Freedom for people depends on freedom of the press. Journalists everywhere must be able to report freely and without fear or favour. When journalists are unable to work, we all lose.

Laws must be implemented equally. There must be no exceptions. For 76 years, Israel has been at odds with the global order and the exception to every rule. This must end. Link to full lecture at the London Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies:

We are NOT opposed to Media FREEDOM. However open biases must be called out and CONDEMNED. The media needs to be fair to KENYANS. Heavily skewed reporting leaves a lot to be desired.

Every country has its own amount of freedom, which is higher for some and lower for others. Some inherited it. Others fight for it. But, regardless of the country, freedom is never free. It must be protected at all times. There must be an understanding of what empowers freedom. Freedom should also be backed up by guarantees. In today’s conversation with Dutch students, I emphasised that there should never be a time when a country loses its freedom. The same is true for every person. To be free, one must comprehend what gives him or her the strength to be free.

Today, I addressed the Ukraine-NATO Council, stressing that human life must be equally valued and protected against terror in the Middle East, in Europe, and elsewhere. Allies have the necessary tools. Unfounded fears must be abandoned and action needs to be taken. A thread🧵

#WorldPressFreedomDay Being afforded Freedom of the Press does not necessarily mean that people must abuse that privilege, it must be taken together with responsibility. We would want to encourage media houses, our journalists together with generality of the citizens of Zimbabwe to be responsible so that the Information that is circulated or disseminated unites the people and not to divide the people.

Lebanon is burning, Innocent lives are being lost while the world's silence grows louder, Every civilian life has equal value, and no one should have to live under the constant threat of violence, The bloodshed must end, civilians must be protected, and accountability under international law must prevail.
