Freedom is one of the most cherished blessings we enjoy. It is woven into the fabric of our nation and defended by generations who understood that liberty comes at a great cost. Yet freedom is more than the absence of restraint - it is the opportunity to choose what is right. The prodigal son demanded freedom from responsibility and discovered that unchecked freedom leads to destruction. True freedom is not the right to do as we want; it is the right to do as we ought. Over the last couple of days, it's become very apparent to me that we, in Australia, you and I, we are at the forefront of a battle for internet freedom, for freedom of speech, for the freedom of political communication, the right to share ideas and the rights of internet freedom that we in our modern societies should have distinct from the involvement of the government. Don't ignore what the Australian government is attempting to do, participate in the process and have your say on their "Ministry of Truth".
