When you come in the house your mom had this on the ready. 😭

Pretty much! 😂🤣😂

😂😂😂😂😂

There's an actual story behind that gif. The parents kept saying that the slide was dangerous for months. Finally they got a police officer out and this is what happened. 😂

Hahaha. My older brother was riding me around on the handlebars of his bike and we went for a tumble. When I shuffled back to my mom, she took a picture first before tending to me. I have a picture of me, a scraped up three year old, smiling. LOL

Awwwww. I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt but we were tough kids 😂

@Murray6971 We only stopped for broken bones. Most times. Other wise we missed the fun & would have had to stay inside.

@ChildPleez007 Yep. Unless you were bleeding, you just put some spit on it, rubbed it and then got back up so you could keep playing. LOL

Hot Hands was my favorite 😭

Damn..she brought back a lot of memories 😆 Remember the swings in the park? They used to be wood and steel! One time I got hit in the head by one, and still have the mark in my head now 🙄 Now schools are closed for 5" of snow. Back in the day 10", "see you at school tomorrow"!

Oh hell yeah. We would twirl around in them and get out fvcking hands caught in the chains😂

@AndreBJones2 I loved swings. If you had a friend to wind you up tight, you could twirl around til your next birthday. Dizzy and puking while your mom called the doctor. Good times.

@ChildPleez007 Yeah...those ole skool swings, with forged metal chains 😆 Don't get your hands caught in them 😬

@ChildPleez007 Oh NOW ya tell me!

@ChildPleez007 😆

These were my favorites. Used to twirl around on one knee, then flip off and land in the gravel.

Playing MERCY w a bunch of boys 5-10yrs older than me... I've been built for this world I guess

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Boomers played on those butt burners and those splintered seesaws, too. We won't even talk about those swings. Some young folks try to insult us by calling us old. I smile and wonder if they'll make it to old age. They play at survivor playgrounds. 😉

“We were feral. Unmedicated, sunburned, dehydrated and yet somehow… STILL alive”. TRUTH! 😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭

Theses & drinking out of water hoses why we were immune to covid! 😂😂

We’re TOO OLD for SM WTF they THINK made this all possible?

Call waiting was dialing 0 on a rotary phone, to ask the operator to break in on your friend’s phone line, that had been busy for hours, because it was an emergency.

She forgot about bench seats and no seat belts in the giant cars made of steel! Flying around the bed of the truck with no canopy, hanging on for dear life while laughing so hard we could barely hold on! Making tents in the backyard and camping out and running the neighborhood!

Generation jones here, that’s exactly how we grew up.🤣🤣🤣💫

Slipped on metal ladder used to climb up to the monkey bars. My chin hit every rung on the way down and jaw bone was visible. Stitches but no anesthesia. This was in a friend’s backyard but she went inside for lunch, so I was alone. 🤷🏻♀️ Today, this would be a lawsuit not a Friday.

Uh, I wish I got rubbing alcohol on my scraped knees. I got the DEVIL’S SPIT called Mercurochrome.

Soooo true!! If there was no meat showing, you got right back out there. #GenX

I broke my elbow in 3rd grade trying to ride my sister’s bike. I ended up needing surgery and two pins put in. Right after I did it, I snuck back in the house and hid from my mom for more than five hours because I was more scared of her being pissed than I was of a broken arm.

The only thing I would argue is the alcohol on wounds. These were the days of iodine. Iodine hurt just as bad as alcohol but left you with a huge orange stain.... (At least those orange stains went away, unlike the one of today...)

After KungFu Saturday your older brothers and cousins tell you to stand right there as they try the kick moves or nunchucks on your ass. I got stitches to memorialize the occasion.

What a beautiful screed for our generation. When my brother hurt himself my dad would tell him to go slam his dick in the door & see what hurt worse. I got a staph infection from messing around on playground swings that are outlawed now ✌️

We weren’t coddled with bottled water & organic food. We drank from rusty garden hoses & ate Twinkies & Fruit Rollups. We rode our bikes behind the mosquito fogger for fun. Our parents had zero contact once we left the house because cell phones hadn’t been invented.

We set the example, but being born in 1962, I 'm coming up with a new name for this combination group/generation: JonesX🤭

We dreaded the appearance of the Merthiolate bottle, the peachtree switch and the leather belt. They told me to walk it off when I fractured my kneecap. Times were tough but we were tougher.

And you did it in shorts!

Smashed my forehead into the metal bar of the back seat while sitting on the fiery metal in the way back of the station wagon. I got a tiny band aid slapped on that thing with blood still running down my face. My brother called me Carrie for days after 😂

My scarred up knees are a badge of fucking honor. Built Ford tough!

All true, but I think if we genX want to continue to be relevant, maybe we should start talking about some of the adult situations we survived. A hose drinking jart surviver that has to use streetlights to tell time has lost its shock and awe to anyone but our small grandkids.

Don’t forget the part where we had to cut on our switch off the willow tree..or being told to sit at the table until midnight to eat ice cold hard peas, unless you were lucky enough to have a dog help you.😂

Facts! 😂

This is fantastic and oh so true!!

She smoked them young ones! 😂😂😂 Late boomers can relate too!

LMAO that Gen Z was upset over the thumbs up emoji so Gen X just posted a bunch of 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 in response 😂

😂😂😂😂 just to name FEW
