Full Interview with Minister of Transport, Yarob Badr 📌A high-speed rail project linking #Syria with #Jordan and the Gulf states is currently under study. 📌We aim to reach the highest technological standards in the transport sector. 📌We face financial challenges and are working to resolve them by engaging with the private sector. 📌Advanced training courses have been conducted on the use of technology in freight transport from #Syria. 📌There is strong coordination between the Ministry of Transport and other ministries this is a hallmark of current government work. 📌Feasibility studies for major transport projects are being conducted today with the support and advice of international entities. 📌We are working to relaunch the #Hejaz railway line, after repairs, to transport goods between #Damascus and #Amman. 📌We are currently updating the economic feasibility study for the #Damascus Metro project. 📌We received a donation of 50 public transport buses, which were immediately put into service in #Damascus, #Aleppo, and #Latakia. 📌The transportation sector is facing difficulties, but we have action plans aimed at improvement through partnerships with the private sector. 📌Private sector proposals have been submitted to invest in domestic transportation. 📌We’ve received major #Arab and international investment offers in the rail and toll highway sectors. 📌The #WorldBank has offered to assist in rehabilitating #Syria’s railway lines. 📌The #Syrian government is not seeking loans from any international or regional entity. 📌The Ministry is striving not to place debt burdens on citizens to improve transportation services. 📌A transparent and fair investment environment will attract major companies to invest in #Syria. 📌Our top priority now is comprehensive regulatory reform of the transport sector.
