Every Scottish PE class in December

Hahhaa! @itzniamh02 when I tell you that they made us do a lesson called “Country dancing” This is what I’m talking about! 🤣😂 It was always absolute chaos. No one wanted to do it at first. Boys and girls wouldn’t hold hands. But by the end of it, we’d be laughing our heads off and having such good craic x

Everyone always complained bout doing this instead of PE….yet when the Xmas party came round dance floor half empty when chart songs on….soon as traditional dancing music started floor was packed 😁

My son is SERIOUSLY unhappy about being made to do this each week until Christmas 😂

I’m 70and I can remember learning all of these wonderful dances at school. So glad that the tradition is being continued.

I remember those days, strip the willow, dashing white sergeant, the gay Gordon's, an eightsome reel oh I could go on.

But then, 15 years later at your cousins wedding, you're showing off your skills to her English pal, who's swept off her feat.

Hated every minute of it.

Looks like it is missing the main component - embarrassment of having to ask someone of the opposite sex to dance 😳

Called Social Dancing, a bit of grumbling to begin with , but most of the kids at our school enjoyed it, eventually. All set for Scottish weddings and ceilidhs .

The gay Gordon , the dashing white sergeant and military two step !! What other ones !!!!
