LAWFARE: The crisis created by federal district judges is unlike anything in American history. The last 11 presidents averaged only 6 nationwide injunctions each, almost all upheld by the Supreme Court. President Trump has faced 106, which is 63% more than the total number issued against all 11 of his predecessors combined. Nearly 90% of those have been overturned by the Supreme Court, proving that Democrat-appointed judges are using their benches as partisan weapons to obstruct the president and his agenda. Congress must begin impeaching these rogue judges before the judiciary loses all credibility.

#WATCH | Delhi | On Supreme Court Judge Ujjal Bhuyan's reported remarks on interference of executive in the collegium system, Advocate Aman Lekhi says, "I tend to agree to the context in which Justice Bhuyan spoke. What is important to note in the case of Justice Sreedharan is three aspects: institutional integrity, perception (of independence), and the worth of law not only as a doctrine but also in practice. I feel that there has been a failure in all three counts. The executive has no role as far as the functioning of judges is concerned. The only involvement which justifies the executive's participation in the process is giving information about judges, which is otherwise not available to the court or the institution... When you are dealing with a sitting judge, no matter what your perception of the judge may be, that is part of the judicial realm. As long as there is no want of judicial integrity or honesty, or any breach of propriety by the judge concerned, it is beyond the executive to interfere... What has been released by the court suggests that Justice Sreedharan's transfer was shifted from Chhattisgarh to Allahabad due to the executive's interference. If something is prompted by the executive and a decision is subsequently re-engineered by the court, the entire process is compromised. That is not how it is supposed to work... Transparency has to fuel belief, not extinguish it, in the efficacy of the process..."

#WATCH | Supreme Court stays the order of Delhi HC, which suspended the life sentence of expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 Unnao rape case of a minor girl. Hemant Kumar Maurya, an advocate from the victims' side, says, "I would like to thank the Supreme Court today. The victim also wants to express her gratitude. The Supreme Court has issued a strong order to the lower courts stating that the accused will not be released from jail in any case, and the order granting relief has been stayed. The opposition has been given time to file a counter-affidavit, and until then, he will not be released from jail under any circumstances. This is the order of the Supreme Court, and there is a stay on the High Court's order."

Holder: The Supreme Court is a broken institution. And it’s something that has to be part of the national conversation in ’26 and in ’28. If there is a Democratic trifecta in 2028—and I think the possibility of that is pretty good—Supreme Court reform has to be on the table. Term limits, at a minimum, and potentially expanding the Court are things that should be seriously considered. We cannot leave in place, without at least a discussion—and I think without substantive reforms being implemented—the Supreme Court as it is presently constituted.
