Respecting boundaries shouldn't feel like a chore. If it does, you're with the wrong person.

Honestly, 'just helping' is often just a disguised way of ignoring a partner's explicit boundaries because someone thinks they know better. If your partner asks you to stay out of a heavy family situation, you stay out of it. Period. Anything else is a complete breach of trust.
