📹 "Every time a train leaves the station there's a transaction between that train operating company and Network Rail to pay for it. We can get rid of all that nonsense, all that bureaucracy." RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch on why we need a fully nationalised railway.

Where have you been Mick Lynch? Glad you're back speaking perfect sense as usual.

That makes travel more affordable, runs regularly on time and puts passengers' needs before those of the greedy shareholders that are fleecing us because some public rely on the train service to get to work. 2/2.

Ultimately, we need a rail service that is not only affordable, reliable and can cater to everyone's needs. What good is it when you have 100 people who are waiting at a platform, with one or 2 carriages? We need to follow the same approach as our European counterparts. 1/2.

If Mick Lynch thinks it's a good idea then that it means it will be bad for everyone else.

And bring in passenger assist in house too please.

#MickLynch. Top bloke.

@JulieCuninghame Now ask for water, energy and mail to be renationalised. Let’s see if Labour will “pledge” on those too.

DON'T READ THIS THREAD. 🧵 #SpreadTheThread. 🚝Railway edition.

@PennySamuels18 He also advocated for Brexit supported by the RMT. How did that work out for your member? He’s a well paid charlatan and that’s it

@RobertJ1DRJ When I visited a Network Control Centre a few years ago there were more staff on the Retribution Desks than the Engineering Control. ( I was in Engineering)
