My favourite part from mine and Amy Egan's discussion with Guillermo Rauch in today's Vercel Community session was the introduction of the term "anti-fragile infrastructure". “AI is imperfect, probabilistic, stochastic which means AI will make mistakes. The future of infrastructure is about how we recover when things go wrong.” He explained how Vercel enables this resilience with instant global rollbacks in 300–500ms. This gives teams the confidence to experiment, move faster, and recover instantly if needed. Imagine a future where swarms of AI agents operate in an environment that is not just resilient, but anti-fragile: learning, adapting, and evolving with every deployment. It boils down to this concept of signal-to-noise ratio. Steve was not a nice guy, but he was myopically focused on his business in an almost perverse way. He worked 18 hours a day. And I've started to realize that he didn't let anything get in the way of whatever tasks he had to achieve in that 18-hour period. Not a long vision for the year, not for the month, for that day. He didn't let anything get in the way of the four or five things he was going to get done that day. Elon Musk is 100% signal, zero noise. I've seen him walk away from a conversation the minute he realized that there was no useful information in it. But look at what he's achieved. So, what I've learned is you have to figure out how much noise in the day are you gonna actually let distract you from the goals you have to achieve that day.
