It is sad that this government, which has shown such disdain for everyday Nigerians that are struggling under the weight of its failures, has now chosen to extend that same disregard to honest Nigerians who have japa'd in search of better opportunities. A government that has failed, and continues to fail, on security, the economy, healthcare, education, and virtually every measure of human dignity has no business lying to Nigerians and the world that things are better for the Nigerians in Nigeria, than they are for Nigerians abroad. Until this government can guarantee safety, create jobs, restore economic stability, and inspire confidence at home, it should either fix Nigeria or stop lecturing Nigerians who have simply done what the government itself has failed to do: secured a better future for themselves and their families. For perspective, and a little bit of respect, Nigeria's total oil export earnings in 2025 were US$31.5 billion, while official diaspora remittances for the same year amounted to US$21.8 billion

I wanted to share an update on San Francisco’s budget and how we are working to get our fiscal house in order. When I took office, we inherited a significant structural deficit. That means the city was set up to spend more money than it brings in, year after year. Today, that gap is projected to reach $1 billion dollars over the next five years. Over the past year, we’ve taken steps to close this gap and bring long-term spending more in line with revenue. We also know that increasing sustainable revenue for our city is crucial to solving our budget problem. Since the day I became mayor, we’ve been taking steps to create the conditions for San Francisco’s economic recovery. Today, our streets are safer and cleaner, and people struggling on the streets are getting into treatment. We’re making it easier to open and operate a small business in our city. And that progress has led to results: Businesses of all sizes are coming back to San Francisco, people are shopping downtown again, and tax revenues are higher than projected. While we are making meaningful progress, we are not out of the woods. Our economic recovery is very fragile. And since last year’s budget, the city has faced new federal and state funding cuts. This means our budget gap would reach $1 billion in the coming years if we don’t act. The charter requires that, as mayor, I submit a balanced budget each June—we cannot spend more money than we bring in. And we must also address this long-term $1 billion dollar deficit. Because if we don’t act now, we will have to do twice as much in the coming years, with the choices becoming more expensive and more difficult. This year’s budget will include painful but necessary decisions. I know they will impact individuals and communities, and I take this seriously—which is why we must act now to avoid even deeper cuts later. This year's budget will continue the work we’ve been doing since last year to manage city funds responsibly and deliver the best possible services. And it will put our city on a path to a lasting economic recovery that benefits all San Franciscans.

This is one of the most unpatriotic statements I have ever heard in my life. If you understand what this man said here, then you will understand how disturbing it is to have people with this type of mindset run our government. What he said outrightly here is that they at ACN (now APC) knew that Jonathan's government was doing well. They knew that the policy he was trying to implement was very good for Nigeria and Nigerians but because they didn't want him to succeed they lied to Nigerians about the policy. We knew that Jonathan was right but because we wanted to take power, we found a way to condemn what he was doing and even deceived Nigerians to come out and protest against it. Simply put, what this man is saying here is that they knew Nigeria was heading to a good direction but they disrupted it for their own selfish reasons. What it means is that these guys don't mind putting Nigeria in a bad condition just so they can get power. This is so serious and so disturbing. He is actually saying that all the protests they organised against Jonathan were fake and NEVER about the interest of Nigeria or Nigerians but just for them to grab power. Now I understand why Peter Obi would always say, that he won't be in any coalition just for the sake of grabbing power. This statement from this man shows you that the people in power right now don't give a damn about Nigerians. Now you understand why they implement these harsh policies since 2015. Now you understand why they live in plenty while Nigerians are becoming poorer by the day. Now you understand why APC has thrown over hundred million Nigerians into poverty. It's simple. They don't care. Everything is politics for them. They play politics with people's lives. Very dangerous and very pathetic. God forbid. Dear Nigerians, this man has told us plainly that APC is not in power for you but for themselves. We must do something about it in 2027.

Every day we are not just hearing, we are actually seeing these illegal migrants attacking our women & girls. Whenever our Government are asked what they are doing to stop it all we hear is we have to give the one in one out deal a chance 🤬. Or we hear that they are in discussion with other countries.... how about just sorting it yourself and protecting your own people. We never hear of France or Germany saying they need to speak to the UK & come to a deal 🤬

Shuler: If you think about every industrial revolution we’ve been through, working people have helped us make that transition. It’s really because we’ve helped tame the technology and figured out how to use it in the most effective way. So I think your question about augmentation versus replacement is the big question we have. If we can all agree that this is about making our jobs better, safer, easier, and more productive, then we’re all in. But if you’re looking to de-skill, dehumanize, and replace workers, to put people out on the street with no path forward, then absolutely you’re going to have a revolution. So I think that’s something we all need to be very real about and think seriously about. If we’re going to have productivity gains, working people—the ones who make these industries happen—need to share in that. There hasn’t been a lot of discussion about that here. Of course, in terms of how we create policies, how we create tax infrastructure, whether or not we are redistributing—yes, that word is a dirty word around here—we need to talk about it and confront how we’re going to make sure working people share in the gains of these technologies. And if you look at the numbers of jobs, let’s talk about job quality. Yes, maybe there are a lot of jobs created, but what kind of jobs are we talking about? Are they jobs that can sustain a family? Is it a job where people can actually work one job? One job should be enough.
