WHIFFLE BALL BAT THROWS— GREAT DRILL FOR YOUNG PLAYERS… when working with young players at Hitters U we like to use drills with external focuses to get the players to understand & feel the proper way of moving without explaining it to them. These drills naturally get you to the place you need to be or you won’t be able to throw the whiffle bat through the middle. This is one of the greatest feelings a hitter will ever experience… and most players never learn it. This drill has nothing to do with mechanics. It has everything to do with execution. The pitcher mixes fastballs and slow balls. Your only two rules: ⚾ Slow pitch or spin? Don’t roll it over. ⚾ Fastball? Don’t pull it. Now you’re forced to recognize speed instead of guessing. You’re training your eyes, your timing, and your approach—not just your swing. This is one of my favorite two-strike drills because it teaches hitters to trust what they see instead of committing too early. A great swing is important. Knowing when to use it is what separates hitters. Train with an expert, not an influencer.

Roughhousing helps with learning and healthy development in so many ways This is why its so important for parents to create plenty of opportunities for kids to play rough. Wrestle with them so they learn how and understand boundaries. Let them socialize with peers their age and rough play will naturally happen When lines get crossed (they usually do) use it as a teaching opportunity

I know this may not be a big deal to some but I noticed it immediately. The eye contact. One thing that was instilled in me at a young age was the importance of making eye contact when someone is speaking to you. It’s a simple habit, but it says a lot. It shows respect. It shows that you’re present and paying attention. That’s why it’s something I emphasize at every clinic I run. When I’m teaching, I expect athletes to look me in the eye. Not because I’m trying to be super strict, but because learning how to communicate, listen, and show respect will take them much further than anything I can teach them about fielding a ground ball or swinging a bat. While I don’t know Coach Murphy or Jocelyn Briski, the fact that this is something she naturally does tells me a lot about her character and the program that helps shape her. Softball is about so much more than softball.

UPDATE: 🚨 +$165,000 ON THE DAY THANK YOU GOD 🙏 A little backstory... I'm currently going through a divorce. It's been one of the toughest seasons of my life mentally and emotionally. Through it all, I've never lost sight of my goals, my dreams, or my faith. For some reason, things have continued to fall into place when I least expected it. I'm also in the process of buying a home for myself and my kids. Not once did I think any of this would be possible on my own. This economy has been tough, but by the grace of God, I've been able to keep moving forward. To anyone who feels behind, lost, or unsure of how they're going to make it through: GOD'S GOT YOU. I’ve watching hundreds, maybe even thousands of hours of elite MLB swings. This video work was done to determine their bat path. Their bat path determined their hard contact zone. As a catcher, my goal was to be above their bat path, or below their bat path. This was accomplished by utilizing velocity, movement, and obviously, location. The disruption of a hitter’s timing creates weak contact or swing and miss. Whenever I saw hitters that had a lengthy (3.5-4ft) of FLAT bat length in the zone, I knew that we would have to be very careful. These types of hitters had much room for error in their swing. They could be late, and line it oppo, or, they could be early on a hanger, and would pull it for damage. The more downward barrel tilt I saw, the more knob up I saw, and more barrel casting toward catcher I saw, it was always a lesser hitter I was watching. Perfect example here of a flat path. High heater, and flush contact. If you see barrel drop or a cast behind on this pitch, it’s a foul ball, swing and miss, or, a pop up on the infield.

My 13 year old, 15 year old and 17 year old helping me move a group of Bulls this evening. These are special times. I fear my bullshit radar is sounding, and I'm wondering if the temptation to create a reaction online often drives the choice of topics. Certainly, headlines like "It's akin to shoving children up chimneys" isn't a "sober" reflection. It's one designed to create online interaction and reaction. This evening, we talked about how to use pressure release with the Bulls to keep them quiet. How to react to challenges from them, and we laughed as one of the kids got stuck in a patch of thistles. There are pressures from all directions to turn family farms into agribusinesses. Resist them at every turn. You won't know what you've lost until it's gone.

I am really sorry, kids…I was so wrong to think this reel generation didn’t know or care about what’s happening to their country. I am so happy to be proven wrong. You are truly the hope this great nation needs. So intelligent, thoughtful and respectful. No violence, no vandalism, no attempt to show strength through numbers…just the courage to stand up for what you believe in. Mad respect to every one of you who joined this protest. Go, kids. Show them no amount of force, tear gas and brutal lathi charges can silence a generation that has found its voice.

Online right-wingers can’t take it. Most people are going through their lives generally ok, laughing and joking with those around them. To be an online right-winger means being consumed by hate, sitting around rubbing one’s hands together, dreaming of collapse or god sending the heathens to hell or whatever. They need “meaning” in the form of telling others what to do because they don’t believe in mental health so don’t understand that this is just a sign that they’ve got problems.

This family was at the beach. They got there early and set up in front so they could watch their kids play in the water. Then this family shows up and they set up in front of them. 🤯 There was no one to the left or the right of them. Clear as could be. 😳 A lot of people said they should have moved closer so no one could set up in front of them. But many others said if the beach was open and there was no one to the left or right of them then that is just plain rude. I always leave a little sand in front in case my kids want to play or we usually throw our boogie boards in front. I’d have been irritated and would have asked them to move. 💯 What do you think? Was it rude of the second family to take their view away and set up in front of them or is it the first family’s fault for not setting up closer so no one could be in front of them?
