Yep, load rear to front by isle, and install divided partitions i n overhead storage, the size of the maximum allowed carry-on dimensions, with a number assigned cubicle for every numbered seat. Even an airline should be able to figure it out.

I would agree if the douche bag in row 40 didn’t drop his bag in the overhead at row 10.

He's right. And also why would 1st class want to board first anyway? It should be a perk that you're stuck on the plane the least amount of time, that you "get" to board last.

The pretentious folk in first/business class would riot 😂

The obvious way was done decades ago and have been explained if you just search

Never understood why people are in such a hurry to go sit on a plane?🤷♂️ Better yet, seat the window seats first, middle, the aisle seats. 🤷♂️ All A & F seats, then B & E, then C & D…..no one needing to get out of their seat to let someone in.

There are airlines and some countries that actually do this. I agree with this man and we should start boarding from the back forward. But it goes with the hierarchy of status. The ones who paid the most money go first and then the rest. But there are so many things that we do here just out of the way they were done before instead of adapting to a new system. You can see this in many things. How about the start of a new school year. In many countries a new school year starts in January and ends in December with several breaks throughout the year. We still go by the Farmers calendars where the school year starts in one year and ends in another, makes no sense.

Except there would be people who paid for preferred seating that wouldn’t have room for their carry on bags.

They did this during the pandemic and it was awesome. Even the flight attendants I spoke with agreed it was the best way. The answer is to put first class in the back so the can feel special and get on the plane first. Or have a door at both ends.

Brother, you are my 100% right! I say that on literally every flight.

I feel this guy. Ever see something and think, how can they think this system they work in is functional?

When first class realizes the plane doesnt take off any faster because they spent $3000 while all the "poor" walking past them only spent $300 to get to the same destination in the same amount of time...

I feel like if I was a first class kinda guy I would want to be the last one on and first one off. Think about it. You get on first and sit there while everyone bumps past you coughing and sneezing:

@FLCons That's how we load trucks at work. Last stop, first in. First stop, last in. "Now boarding seats in row 40, 39, 38, 37. " Pause for 40 seconds, then resume 4 rows at a time to row 1

Airline travel is a mess. I dislike flying.

If you load from the rear the nose will lift up in the air.🤷♀️

Why does everyone want to get on the plane first? I want to be on the plane for as little time as possible. Let me get on last and of first.

Rɛtards will go full rɛtard if this is implemented People seated in row 31-40 will deposit their carry-on bag in overhead bins above seats 1-10. If there are zero carry-ons or overhead bin use, this could be implemented

It’s bc of the overhead bin space. If they could board from the rear, with row 1 going first, then deboard from the front, with row 1 going first, the prob would be solved, but that will never happen. At least not with most airlines/airports.

Window seats, then middle seats, then aisle seats.

@SteveMasch55285 Lol. People play extra for part of the privileges is to board first not last.

This ignores the primary rule of scarcity of overhead storage space. If the folks in the cheap seats get first crack at available overhead storage, the people who paid more for their seats would be forced to check their carry ons. There would be riots.

what really needs to happen is your overhead bag should only be allowed to go over your seat. someone in row 40 should not be putting their carry on over row 1

The problem with loading your way is that people will put their bags in the overhead at the closest spot to the door and then the last ones on will have to go to the back to put their bags in the overhead. . . If people would put their bags above their seats, your way might work.

So right but I would like to add to that. Your bag must be tagged showing your seat number and only placed above or below your assigned seat number or it will be removed and checked.

Airlines have likely studied this. It’s probably easier to board the old way than to herd passengers, many speaking different languages, into strict row order before boarding.

@AllieJade1 And how are they “running out of carry on space” if each passenger is allowed only 2 carry on items? Big push from Southwest to get people to gate check bags

Flying has long been a humiliation ritual. Thats why they seat first class and business first. I've always hated passing them on my way to the back. Back in the day, the entire damn plane was first class!!!

He is so wrong. They board based on who pays more because it makes them feel special. The airline don't care about the guy sitting in row 40 because he only really covers the cost of his ticket. The guys in row 7 account for nearly all of their profits.

Years back, for a short time, airlines tried this. The problem? People. 1. People in the back stuck their bags in the overhead bins up front, because they’re awful. 2. Flight attendants didn’t want to confront the awful passengers. 3. Frequent flyers, who sit up front and are the most valuable customers, had to wait longer AND not have overhead space. If people would act right, it would work, but they won’t. Lessons learned.

A lot of the European airlines use both the front and rear doors for boarding. Takes half the time but you have to be out on the tarmac and use the stairs. Not sure Americans would be okay with that.

Flying used to be a treat. Now it’s a nightmare

I saw a show where they timed different ways of boarding. And I think when it was all said and done there wasn’t a specific way that actually saved time

I agree, I hate flying anymore. Packed in like sardines. Lucky if you can fit your carryon in your row. It is messed up and easy to fix if they wanted to.

And miss out on the peasant parade?
