Jimmy Iovine, Cofounder of Beats and Interscope Records, says social media has trained people to care too much about what other people think to the point where they outsource their own judgement. “What do they think of my post? What do they think of my orange juice? Who cares!” “Would you go to a grocery store and ask everybody what they think?” He says you still need enough empathy to understand other people and other disciplines, you ultimately gotta "run your own race."

Jennings: I don’t care what they think Phillip: You don’t care what the residents of DC think? Jennings: I do not care one bit… There's another population that cares about public safety in D.C. It's all the people who visit there. So I don't really care about what they think.

People actually believe that Candace Owens is really the only person who cares about what happened to Charlie Kirk? What about his wife? All his friends? Everyone who was close to him?

Generally speaking, our culture doesn't allow people to say too much about themselves. We need to be more open. We need to be accountable. Maybe have accountability groups, share more with each other, and tell people what you are going through before it destroys what you have. - Adebola Atoyebi, Early Childhood & Montessori Specialist, speaking on parenting #Sunrise

Nobody cares what you have to say. All people care about is what they have to say, that’s why listening is such a grate social currency.

There are 2 big mistakes in life: 1. Worrying about what other people think about you. 2. Believing that other people think about you in the first place. Harsh Truth: Most people don’t care about you. The Spotlight Effect says that we overestimate the degree to which other people are noticing our actions or behaviors. This is liberating—stop worrying about what others think, do you, and live according to your values.

The best piece of advice I ever got came from my grandmother. What other people think about you is none of your business. It sounds simple, but it is genuinely hard to live by because we're social creatures and we want to be liked. The moment you start caring about that less, you become your actual self. And those other people you're so worried about are mostly thinking about themselves anyway. So relax. Be yourself.
