Who spoke up for Iran? As expected, China joined Russia at the UN Security Council meeting to criticize the United States for its strikes on Iran. China said that US has damaged its credibility with strikes on Iran. Obviously, China monitors the situation very closely. It is of utmost importance to China to keep Iran as an ally (Iran supplies oil and gas to China, a lot of Chinese goods are exported to Iran etc. As an Iranian official once said, the two countries "mutually complement each other. They have industry and we have energy resources".) Iran is also very important to Russia and keeping it as an ally is a priority. Iran is part of a coalition with Russia and North Korea. If Iran falls, Russia will lose an ally, not to mention that Iran would become another example of a toppled regime - not something Russia wants to see. Russia cannot do much for Iran in military terms as all its war machine is directed at Ukraine. But Russia will try and make its support very vocal - for Iran and to side with China.

Russia does not want to recklessly cause a World War, so isn’t supplying Iran with long-range missiles (yet), but is reportedly making the US pay a reciprocal price for the Ukraine proxy war by providing Iran targeting intelligence for its own long-range missiles.

Trump gambles that the blockade is a silver bullet that will force Iran to surrender. We have been here before - Iran will not capitulate, particularly not now, since it believes it handed the US a strategic defeat.

Well, it's not just Lavrov; the entire world is at a loss. The old world has collapsed before our eyes. The new world isn't here yet. But I don't think the US thinks it owes anyone anything. The US is building its own unipolar world where it will dictate how everyone lives. Then everyone will know what kind of world they live in. To achieve this, the US only needs to subjugate Iran, Russia, and China. Isn't that clear? Turning a blind eye to this and pretending everything is fine won't work. Iran is now taking the US's first blow because Iran is the gateway to the conquest of Russia and China. That's what I think.
